Have you ever felt like the only driver in Virginia without a personalized vanity plate on your car? That may be because 16.19% of Virginians have such a plate, the highest rate in country.
Other states with high percentages of vanity plates are New Hampshire (13.99%), Illinois (13.41%), Nevada (12.73%), Montana (9.8%), Maine (9.7%), Connecticut (8.14%), New Jersey (6.8%), North Dakota (6.5%) and Vermont (6.1%). Texas has the lowest rate of vanity plates, (0.5%). Speciality plates must be very expensive in Texas.
See the 100 top rated vanity plates from around the country here. And a list of some controversial plates that made it to print here.
I saw this plate in Loudoun when I moved here and had to laugh,
When I lived in Vienna, the guy with this plate lived down the street.
What fun vanity plates have you seen? What does your vanity plate say? One of my mine says 2frais on a Z3, the sentiment refers to the car, not the driver. Extra points if you can figure it out.

Ugh. So stupid when people put their car type on their plates. We know…we can see the car.
CLL (NRALogo) DTY. Humvee will read FLY(Gasden Flag) BRK . Se if you get that one.
My plate is “PUN GENT”
Are you a gentleman who enjoys a good pun or are you gentleman who is somewhat odiferous?
The former. Pungent can also mean strong or sharp in senses not necessarily related to odor. (I’m not saying that odor has nothing to do with senses). A fellow punster saw my plate and said: Hey, that’s really sharp!
I get it!
I have one that says “NOKEGOP” since Im on the Roanoke County GOP Committee
Cool! Someone here in Loudoun has GOP4ME
You know who. SSC forever!
I always wanted one that said “POLLUTR.”
That would be perfect for you!
