Virginia Republicans say Gillespie has the best chance to win in November–Stewart the least likely to win

written by Jeanine Martin May 16, 2017

In the latest Post-Schar poll for Governor, Ed Gillespie is far ahead of his competitors.  Among likely Republican voters, 38% support Ed Gillespie, 18% support Corey Stewart and 15% favor Frank Wagner, Wagner’s best showing to date.

Even more interesting are the results when Republicans were asked which candidate has the best chance of winning in November.  Ed Gillespie was chosen by 60% of Republicans, Frank Wagner was second with 9% and Corey Stewart was third with  7%.

Gillespie is also seen as the best candidate to support Trump.  He has 37% of Republican voters, while Frank Wagner and Corey Stewart each get 12%.

There is nothing good in this poll for Corey Stewart.  And the last few days haven’t helped, as we reported here and here.

More on this latest poll here.
