Why Congressman Dave Brat didn’t vote for Paul Ryan. Brat didn’t vote for Ryan for exactly the reasons he previously said,
“Before Congressman Ryan announced his consideration for the position, I made a promise to my constituents to only vote for a Speaker candidate who was willing to commit, on paper, to the ten Republican consensus principles I laid out,” Brat said in a statement. “Unfortunately, I never received that confirmation from Congressman Ryan, preventing me from being able to support him.”
Don’t you love a man who is true to his word? Don’t you wish all Congressmen were like Dave Brat?

Because Brat and the other 8 who voted for Webster are the true RINOs, not the 236 who voted for Ryan.
Nice try but I believe you failed the logic hurdle on that comment (even though it was a small one). But let me state the obvious for you – that’s why they call it a “VOTE”, it implies choice. Get it now?
Look, Brat has his principles as do the eight others who voted against Ryan. But that is a pretty big litmus test and if Ryan isn’t acceptable to them then maybe they aren’t really Republicans. Not sure what they are and they certainly can caucus with the Republicans if they like, but when people are referring to Justin Amash and Scott Garrett as squishes for supporting Ryan, they’ve got some reflecting to do.
You use the litmus test expression as a metaphor which is interesting to me. In chemistry it is nothing more then a simple reaction to test for “acidity or alkalinity” using litmus. That nine individuals voted their conscience and/or beliefs doesn’t bother me in the least but for those that aspire to be gatekeepers I see how it might give you acid indigestion. Take two pepto bismol you will recover, I guarantee.
I greatly admire the man’s forthright integrity, one of the truest tests of integrity is its blunt refusal to be compromised even when faced with a self justifying way out of an issue, choice or in this case vote. Paul Ryan could learn a lot from Dave Brat. I’m not sanguine that will every occur.
The first sentence says everything about how man should opperate.
In my expereince some Reps. say to me but he { in general } is a ” good man ” , yea some are good to stay away from.On the job we refer to others as a pure waste of skin.
On another note did you see that our AG on Oct.14 said that he wants to hear about unlicensed contractors , is this integerity or a smoke screen coverup of what is going on in Va.? Still no prosecutions yet.
I have been saying the truth ; illegal aliens and unlicensed contractors are the same. I wonder if Trump numbers or T. MaC ‘s desire to be Clinton’s VP is driving this.
I would love to have a hand in Virginia’s Employee Misclassification Legislation , a great avenue to stop this form of illegal commerce.
