Governor Youngkin has sent the recently passed bill to end mask mandates in K-12 education back to the General Assembly with his amendments. One amendment would add an emergency clause to the bill to make it effective immediately rather than July 1st. The second amendment would give school districts until March 1st to make plans to end mask mandates.
If Democrats in the General Assembly approve these amendments K-12 mask mandates will end March 1st.
