In an email today to members of the 10th district Republican Congressional Committee, Chairman Andrew Nicholson announced his resignation effective November 18th. Nicholson’s sad statement to the committee:
I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s six years ago, a progressive disease that effects every individual differently. While overall my health has remained fairly constant I feel a new person leading our committee during this Congressional Nomination Process would be wise. It will also free me to pursue a more activist role in the party.
Therefore I submit my resignation effective November 18, 2019 and issue the following Call for the committee the opportunity to choose my replacement.
We hate to lose Andrew as chair of the 10th district but happy to know he will continue an active role in the Republican party. He has given so much to the party for so many years. We look forward to his continued leadership and contributions.
The 10th district committee will meet on the 18th at 7:00 in the Lovettsville room at the Loudoun County government center. At that time the committee will vote on a new chairman. TBE will cover the meeting and report on the results of the vote.
