State Senator Amanda Chase, a Republican candidate for Governor, said in a radio interview this week with Jeff Katz of WRVA that she will run as an Independent for Governor if the Republican party chooses Pete Snyder as their nominee for Governor. On May 8th, the Party will choose their statewide candidates at unassembled conventions around the state.
From the interview:
Chase: Well, what I’m telling you is that if Pete Snyder is chosen as the nominee, I will probably run as an independent, because his campaign — and other campaigns feel this as well, they’re just not willing to be as vocal as I am — it is Pete Snyder’s campaign that is running a rigged election.”
You can listen to the entire interview with Chase here.
Host: OK so so just so we’re clear; So if Pete Snyder gets the nomination Amanda Chase definitely runs as an independent in November. If Glenn Youngkin or Kirk Cox gets the nomination you’ll be out campaigning on their behalf.
Chase: Absolutely.
Pete Snyder is running hard for the nomination, crisscrossing the state, and sending lots of information in the mail to potential delegates. He is likely to win the nomination through his hard work and conservative issues we all care about. I see no evidence whatsoever of him ‘rigging’ the nomination.
It’s times like this where Senator Chase is her own worst enemy.
