“With what is essentially a “narco-state” on our Southern border run by the cartels, how long before they infest our own government? More worrisome – have they already done so?”
By now, many of us have figured out that our federal government is corrupt beyond anything we could imagine only a few years ago – and run by very unserious, often stupid, people. The outright criminality and totalitarian bent of the “ruling class” are no longer hidden from view.
They know we know and simply don’t care that we know.
But, some of our so-called leaders’ actions exceed mere corruption and foolishness. They have inflicted great harm – actual evil – on the nation, often purposefully. But, even if well-intentioned, the result is what it is.
Various wars, Viet Nam, the twenty-year nation-building exercises in Iraq and Afghanistan, and their world-changing, catastrophic consequences for the US come to mind. Or the “temporary” Patriot Act that now captures the data of every citizen without a warrant, soon to be used in the war against the Bill of Rights, no doubt. Then there is the still open question of involvement in the assassination of a sitting President in 1963 and the now-proven coup to remove a duly elected President in 2016 by a cabal inside the Department of Justice, FBI, and the intelligence community, followed by their subsequent criminal interference in the 2020 election.
Near the top of the list is the destruction of millions of lives, businesses, incomes, and two years of missed education for our kids with preposterous, unscientific lockdowns, business closures, and long-debunked masking mandates during the COVID crisis. This was accompanied by pushing a radical gene therapy under the guise of a “vaccine” that is proving as damaging as the virus itself while making billionaires pop up like mushrooms. All of which was done knowingly using outright lies – then bragging about it! – by our so-called health experts.
Perhaps the worst example in modern times has been the destruction of the Black family unit through the Great Society programs launched in the 1960s. Its devastation is unprecedented in our post-war history, as well as its ongoing and grim social ramifications.
The list is long, but the page is short.
They aren’t just bad decisions and policies. They created immense suffering and ruin, destroyed social comity, and landed like cluster bombs across society. Good intentions, pure motives? Perhaps. Devastating consequences. For sure.
The absolute ongoing disaster at the southern border with Mexico is a real-time example of pure evil unleashed on the American public – and on the desperate collection of humanity from over 160 nations worldwide that have been allowed – invited – to swarm across the US-Mexican border since January 2021. The numbers are both unprecedented in all of history and mind-boggling. According to the Border Patrol, six to seven million illegal aliens will have crossed the border by this fall (with numbers now approaching 200,000 per month), not including upwards of 2 million “gotta ways” who crossed and were never encountered by law enforcement.
It is more than simply a boo-boo by the appointed President, the hapless and mentally addled Joe Biden – Mr. Obama’s sit-in for a third term – being led around teetering and mumbling incoherently. First, our own government is not only ignoring the existing federal immigration laws but making up rules and regulations on the fly. The entire process and body of law-making and national policy have been turned upside down by a collection of radicals – Marxist, communists, and outright anarchist extremists inside this administration – and the “immigration-corporate complex” of NGOs which take in millions of government dollars providing “services” to illegal aliens.
There was no vote. There was no national consensus. The borders were simply opened wide while existing US law was ignored. The National Chamber of Commerce cheered, as did the food processors and corporate farms, at the prospect of the near-indentured status of many of the men, women, and children that can be pressed into illegal employment.
But those who have to live with the consequences are ignored as though they were second-class citizens in their own country. Towns, cities, ranches, and farms along the nearly 2,000-mile border with Mexico from Texas across New Mexico, Arizona, and California have been swarmed by people whose very first act in this country is to break US law. The economic, social, and environmental catastrophes are horrendous and will only worsen.
We don’t know who these people are for the most part. They are screened with minimal information or with fake identification supplied by the cartels who control our southern border. Others purchase driver’s licenses or Social Security cards from “brokers” (more here). Virtually 100 percent of these illegals claim “refugee” status using boilerplate language provided to them before crossing the border. Once confronted in the US, they are given “court dates” for a refugee status hearing for months or years in the future and released into the US. (Historically, less than ten percent show up at those “court dates.”)
With the expiration last week of the Trump era “Title 42” restrictions in place because of COVID, the buffoonish and inept Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, is back to parroting his line that the “border is secure,” which is used as the lede by the sycophantic US corporate media to ignore – to lie – about the reality of the border crisis.
Mr. Mayorkas claimed last Friday, “Starting tonight, people who arrive at the border without using a lawful pathway will be presumed ineligible for asylum. We are ready to humanely process and remove people without a legal basis to remain in the US.” This belies what has already been happening for two years. So far, there is little indication the flow will subside. Too little, too late.
Of course, as is evident from interviews, most of these men and women are not refugees from political oppression as required by statute but economic refugees. They understandably want to come to a country that, unlike their own, has a functioning and relatively free economy that produces jobs and wealth. Freedom has that effect. As numerous polls over the last decades have shown, many if not most, are coming to the US not to build – but to mine the generous social benefits, health care, and free education available.
Most speak little to no English and will flood the already crushed service sector job market, further driving US citizens out of the job sector and lowering pay scales even further. Their living conditions will be deplorable. But lawns will get cut and kitchens staffed, as the ever-amoral “ruling class” continually reminds us. We witnessed this phenomenon over the last thirty years. The economic ramifications of uncontrolled and illegal immigration on American citizens are well-documented and obvious to the naked eye.
But lawlessness always reaps a whirlwind of despair.
The uncontrolled human flood of illegals starts with the decision to break the law – both by the illegal aliens and the US government. So it’s hardly surprising that the cartels control the border. They organize and transport the illegals. They are in control of the drug traffic. They set up human trafficking and sex slaves, including children. (Up to 85,000 children who crossed the border alone are “lost” in the US, and some border authorities estimate that up to one-third of the females of all ages are raped during their travels to the US border.) The Drug Enforcement Agency estimates that the cartels now operate in at least 60 US cities, from Florida to Washington State.
Worse, the various cartels have recently extended their business model into illegal mining and subverting other business activities through intimidation and threats. The Mexican government itself is compromised, as is its judicial system. (A brief, useful tutorial here.)
When the law means nothing, something else takes its place. The meanest, most godless, and the most violent men always seize power and control (more here). So the cartels have a green light to establish themselves in the US. With what is essentially a “narco-state” on our Southern border run by the cartels, how long before they infest our own government? More worrisome – have they already done so?
The late author, Gary Jennings, of Aztec fame, wrote, “Northern America was largely settled by men seeking God, and the rest of the Americas were settled by men looking for gold. That made all the difference.”
The consequences that evolved from that truth have shaped the respective societies – and they do as surely in 2023 as they were in 1521. Average Americans affected, bewildered, and helpless in this process of flooding the nation with illegal aliens understand that it diminishes US citizenship from something prized and unique to a mere mailing address. And they understand that American sovereignty as a nation cannot stand in the gale winds of violence and corruption that follow.
