Dear Senator McConnell:
As a virulent Trump supporter, I am personally offended and outraged by your voting against several qualified Trump nominees. Among them are Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Secretary to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr., soon to be FBI Director Kash Patel, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
As a former GOP Leader, and a Senator in a very dark deep red state like Kentucky, you have an obligation to be not only supporting our President, but also to be representing your home state of Kentucky (technically a Commonwealth like Virginia but we’ll deal with that later). I appreciate that you do not like Donald Trump on either a personal or professional level. That is your choice and your right. However if – for example – John Kasich had been the nominee in 2024, you’d be out there saying that it is the job of every Senate Republican to support Mr. Kasich’s nominees.
Whether you want to hear this or not, the fact is that President Donald Trump has expanded this party in ways you and many other Washington DC insiders never thought were imaginable. But President Trump has done this. He has done this with his policies, and with the force of his personality. Is Mr. Trump at times over the top? Honestly yes. However it seems that in this day and age, and with all the problems that we have currently, maybe we need someone who is over the top. And remember many if not most of these problems (such as overpaying $ 2 trillion to unknown contractors for example) happened on your watch. You and your Senate were supposed to protect us from bureaucrats who thought they were in charge. You and your Senate failed We the People.
And now there is a new sheriff (Donald Trump) in town, who is doing the job that you refused to do for many years.
Donald Trump put together a coalition that beat Kamala Harris and the Democrats. It’s a fractious coalition, but one that Mr. Trump put together, and thus he deserves to have his nominees confirmed. For the record, I have several serious policy disagreements with both Mr. Kennedy and Lt. Colonel Gabbard. I’d never support Mr. Kennedy’s thoughts on socialized medicine. However that’s not what he was nominated to do. Mr. Kennedy was nominated to Make America Healthy Again – something he can do, and will do far more to save lives and money than anything Congress can do. You should want this also, unless you want more and more Americans hooked on drugs supplied by Big Pharma?
As a GOP Party Chairman, I am required to endorse each Republican nominee and endorsee. I do this whether I agree with the nominees or not. I do this because I believe in team work and I believe in the ideals of the Republican Party. Something you should consider. Trump won. There was no insurrection, just some people who acted improperly. Get over yourself and help us Make America Great Again!

The most important thing to remember is that the democrats hold nothing sacred when it comes to America. This current bunch is about as evil as it gets – and too many republicans are willing to lay down with these dogs.
Unfortinately he will not read it.. i am not sure he is even able to read it. Of course every eord you wrote is totally correct.
1. Senator McConnell cares no one iota what you, I or anyone else thinks of him.
2. See #!
IMHO, Mitch McConnell isn’t fully cognizant of what is being done in his name. He resembles former President Joe Biden: not altogether “present” and surrounded by functionaries who are pulling the strings. Those functionaries are Deep Staters who are holding on for dear life as their canoe is sinking fast.
Spot in John !
” Is Mr. Trump at times over the top?” I do not agree that President Trump is going too far or is “over the top.” In turbulent times we need people who are willing to do what is needed. Everything else i agree with in this well written and to the point article.
I particularly agree with what i think was Benjaman Franklins statement, “If we don’t hang together, we will hang separately.’ I have seen no limits to what the far-left politicians will do to take control. We have to support a leader who will win for us. NOW is the time to support our elected president and his agenda, in fixing all the problems created over the years.
