Jill and Joe Biden after his disastrous debate (source: Mandel NGAN)

Biden will remain on the ticket, Jill wouldn’t have it any other way

written by David Shephard July 3, 2024

Democrats Consider Replacing Biden, But Jill and Kamala Will Make That Impossible.

Last week I was watching videos on YouTube. Yes, YouTube, that great time waster. I don’t remember exactly what I was watching, but I am sure it was a mindless diversion. At one point in this binging process a campaign ad popped up. Then and there I saw Jill Biden urging me to make a contribution to her Husband’s campaign. After about 5 seconds I was allowed to exit, but I didn’t I watched her entire pitch. And I have now seen the same ad cut by Joe and Kamala.

First, I can’t ever recall a First Lady cutting a fundraising ad, but perhaps it has happened before. Secondly, Jill seemed upbeat, she seemed motivated, clearly this wasn’t some chore that she did for her Husband. I can imagine that she asked the campaign if she could be in an ad. One might think Joe is the politician in the family, but just watching that ad you would think Jill would make a better candidate. Joe and Kamala gave the same pitch, almost word for word, but without any real emotion, no feeling, they just read the words. Jill gave a good performance. Pat Nixon, Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, shied away from politics. Clearly not Jill Biden. I get the sense that Jill’s heart is more into the campaign than Joe’s.

And Friday the day after Joe’s disastrous debate performance, the campaign held a rally in North Carolina to do some damage control. And guess who was there with him, leading the cheers. That’s right Jill, the dutiful wife/campaign worker, was there to lead the counterattack. There trying to raise the mood of the despondent and defeated crowd. On stage with Joe, she told him that he did great, and then in a patronizing voice, the tone you would use to congratulate a child, she told him, in front of the crowd, “You answered all the questions Joe.” The crowd cheered, Joe just stared at her, with his mouth agape, he seemed to nod when she spoke, indicating that maybe he knew what she what she was saying.

She then promoted the crowd with a chant, “Trump lied, Trump lied.” I was struck by her attitude and her demeanor. Less than 24 hours earlier she witnessed her Husband get humiliated on National television. Even that commie Larry Sabato described it as the worst Presidential debate performance he ever saw. Wouldn’t that shock and horrify her?

No, it didn’t seem to matter; she didn’t lose a step, still perky, and optimistic. On stage she led the crowd with the fantasy that Joe did fine. Perhaps that was just the public face. Maybe in private she was more realistic. But I doubt it, because honesty doesn’t advance Jill’s agenda.

Anyway, how blunt can you be with an 81-year-old man, with obvious mental impairment. Could you say to him that he just bombed or screwed up? Might that be considered elder abuse. For example, imagine telling your 80-year-old parent or grandparent, “You stunk in that debate. You really made a fool of yourself. Gaffe after gaffe. You have got to do better. next time.” Or how about, “You can’t embarrass yourself like that at the next debate. You understand me Gramps?” And how about telling them, “If you fail and lose this election the big bad orange man will win, and he will destroy our Democracy.” That type of treatment, if overheard by a concerned neighbor, would probably justify a call to Adult Protective Services.

But I doubt Jill was critical even in private. You see she wants him run. Does he want to run? I don’t know but I doubt he is even mentally competent to make that decision. I think Jill feeds him lies, she fills him with great delusions, such as “You have to run because you are the only one who can beat Trump.” And “Joe you are the uniter and healer that our country needs.” Poor Joe, his mind is going, almost gone, and he depends on his wife. But she probably has a different agenda she wants power. Perhaps in her mind she tells herself and him, “Joe this is what we both want.”

And over the last 4 years, as his mind became weaker her power has no doubt grown stronger. My guess is that she wants “student loan forgiveness” and open borders, and other progressive policies. With Joe in office those things can get done. Jill can shape American history.

Might she consider asking him to step aside to save his reputation, some of what is left of his dignity? Maybe, but think of her position. She is married to the most powerful man in the world. He has the power, and he can’t think straight, he depends on her, so she has a chance to shape policy and the world. She is important, she has power like no one else on earth and if he leaves office, she loses all her power.

Now, Biden will probably lose to Trump, but Jill is not going down without a fight.

And there is one other big consideration, not for Jill, but for other Democrats, and thar is Kamala Harris. Joe appointed her because she has one and as far as I can tell only one important attribute. She is a black woman. He promised to appoint a black woman. But she can’t take over, because she may be less competent and articulate than he is. And if Democrats pass over her, their woke base will go crazy.

Merit has no place in today’s Democratic party. I almost feel sorry for Joe. In his time of great mental decline, in his current crisis, he looks beside him and sees the smiling conniving face of Jill.

David Shephard is a ne’er do well who never succeeded at or finished anything he started other than a book of fiction, so making things up from whole cloth suits him.

You are just plain wrong….. July 4, 2024 at 11:06 am

You got it all wrong. Forget about the Obama’s . She ain’t interested. But, how do you know that the Trump, the Republican’s, are not running scared now because the Democrats may dump Biden? Why hasn’t the Trump offered Biden a chance to redeem himself with more debates? Why are the black Dems starting to slowly dump Biden? Why not dump Biden now, and make history with an unqualified (but much more qualified than that vegetable) almost black female with Harris? Five months before the election. Doesn’t she have at least as much of a chance of beating the Trump as the vegetable? And, the media is not letting go of the vegetable. Is that because they want to make history with Harris?

You just got it all wrong. Trump and his team are now scratching their heads, and pissing their pants, because of their absolute fear that they may now have to run against something besides a vegetable.

Disarray, disintegration, dissolution, destruction, and dementia; it doesn’t get much better than this.
Extra butter on my popcorn please.
