An interview with David Shephard on his latest book, “Norton’s Choice: An Inside Expose”
Q. Congratulations on your latest book, “Norton’s Choice: An Inside Expose.” Is this a continuation of your first book?
A. Yes, it is a sequel, but it is written to stand alone, that is it incorporates the first book. A person can read this book without having read my first. It is political fiction and takes place in Virginia.
Q. Explain the title.
A. The Governor is Ronnie Norton. A moderate scandal plagued Democrat. He has survived a few scandals before but this time his party decides to abandon him.
Q. Why do they abandon him?
A. Norton is in his 3rd year as Governor, so it’s a Presidential election year. Democrats are concerned that he will be a drag on the ticket. And they feel he has nothing else to offer them. In other words, he is expendable.
Q. What’s his choice? What must he decide?
A. Norton must decide whether he will resign, and if he is so inclined, might he hold out for something. Some inducement. Or will he just hold on and limp out his term.
Q. Who might like this book?
A. I think anyone, especially a conservative who likes politics. The book will seem very relevant to them.
Q. How might someone get a copy?
A. The book is on Amazon. You can read the first chapter for free. Also, if you don’t want to buy from them you can buy from me, 17 bucks and I will sign it and even cover the shipping.
Q. What’s the best way to reach you.
A. They can email me [email protected]
