Candidate for Governor Corey Stewart refuses to concede his loss in Tuesday’s primary. He also says he will never say the word ‘unity’. Nice. And of course, his merry band of malcontents is vowing to not support the Republican candidate for Governor, Ed Gillespie. Can we say sore losers?
Corey says he will ‘carry this into 2018’. What might that mean? A run for Senate?

Corey has conceded. He will be on WMAL with Larry O’Donnell between 3:00 and 6:00. Sorry I don’t know a more specific time.
You do mean Larry O’CONNOR, right? 😉
Corey’s concession speech on Facebook Live was spot on 100%. He admits that Ed won, that he has no regrets, that he fought the good fight, but that Ed won and he will vote for the ticket in November. He also said that Ed must be committed to fighting to ban sanctuary cities (Ed has already campaigned against the concept of sanctuary cities) and to make sure that our heritage remains intact (15-2.1812 of the VA code ensures this already and Ed won’t get rid of the law and no Republican would dare propose getting rid of the law) so all will be fine come November, other than a few spoiled sports who wouldn’t be happy if Christ Hisself was the nominee.

This blog and Jeanine have done nothing but attack Corey and make fun of his supporters and our Virginia values. Now he almost won. I am not thinking to do much for “Tear the Statue Down Ed” from NJ. If by “support” the winner, you mean show up and vote for him in Nov. along with Vogel and Adams, who I will definitely vote for, maybe, but only because we don’t want Northham. If you mean do any phone banking, door knocking, donating any time or money towards Ed’s campaign, or investing myself emotionally, after the hatred and the vitriol that has come out of Ed’s surrogates and this blog, you can forget about it.
“Make fun of his supporters and our Virginia values”? Where? When?
You really have to be kidding, don’t you. Just re-read all the attacks and name calling on this blog and from Ed’s surrogates.
Emotions are raw right now. Corey came close – and his supporters did their best. I honor them and appreciate their hard work on behalf of Corey. With a few exceptions – 99% of Corey Stewart supporters are good people. Many of them are my personal friends. Trashing Corey supporters when we will need them is not a good idea.
They should be proud of their hard work. And I am proud to call them my fellow Virginians and my friends.
Ed himself tried not to attack, but this unfair blog and most of the writers trashed Corey and his supporters hourly and it has left me really rethinking why I even bother. It wasn’t just on TBE either. All of y’all can go to hell.
Odd, I remember writing one article on here explaining Ed’s position on the Confederate monuments, but don’t remember trashing Corey or his supporters. I do have issues with a few of them, but as I said above, if 98-99% of a group of people are good people, then I prefer to not let the 1-2% affect my thoughts.
Now I do find myself increasingly at odds with people who are Corey supporters who call me an “establishment hack”, or people like some who post on here alot who would trash Ed Gillespie if he found a cure for cancer. But again they are the exception and not the rule.
Jeanine Martin is good people who supports conservative causes and conservative candidates. I don’t see her as being an unfair person. You can disagree with who she supports – but saying this blog is unfair – well that’s plain wrong.
And regarding the “trashing” of Corey supporters, the fact is that the only ones who were ever really trashed here were those calling anyone who didn’t agree with them an establishment hack. Something to ponder.
Ed’s position on Conf. monuments was that he was okay with localities taking them down, and that Corey was mis-represending his position by saying that it should be left up to the locality, and he would do nothing as governor to stop any of it. I’m sure he just wanted that issue to go away. Actually, your hit-piece was milder than some of the others on here, but you still didn’t support him, and if you aren’t with us, you’re against us. Yet the blog only had ONE Pro-Corey piece that I remember. All the rest was daily trashing.
I see that Ed didn’t even come down and circulate with his own supporters last night at his own victory party until about 10:30pm. He basically pulled a “hillary” until he was sure he’d won.
Did you just say that if I don’t agree with someone 100% on something – then I must be opposed to them?
And mine wasn’t a “hit piece”. Mine was an explanation on what Ed’s position was. Oh and for the record. VA Code Section 15.2-1812 specifically prohibits the removal of any war memorial statue from the French and Indian War through Iraqi Freedom.
And the law specifically says and I quote: ” A locality may, within the geographical limits of the locality, authorize and permit the erection of monuments or memorials for any war or conflict, or for any engagement of such war or conflict, to include the following monuments or memorials: Algonquin (1622), French and Indian (1754-1763), Revolutionary (1775-1783), War of 1812 (1812-1815), Mexican (1846-1848), Confederate or Union monuments or memorials of the War Between the States (1861-1865), Spanish-American (1898), World War I (1917-1918), World War II (1941-1945), Korean (1950-1953), Vietnam (1965-1973), Operation Desert Shield-Desert Storm (1990-1991), Global War on Terrorism (2000- ), Operation Enduring Freedom (2001- ), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003- ).
If such are erected, it shall be unlawful for the authorities of the locality, or any other person or persons, to disturb or interfere with any monuments or memorials so erected, or to prevent its citizens from taking proper measures and exercising proper means for the protection, preservation and care of same”.
So quite honestly, first off, you do not know the law. Secondly – if you think anyone who supports someone else other than who you support is “against you” then you are not part of the solution, or part of taking back Virginia. You are part of the problem.
For the record, Corey Stewart and I are personal friends, and I’ve donated to him in the past – which is probably more than you have done.
Since the law is already on the books, I don’t want it taken off, but don’t want the Legislature wasting time writing more laws on the books either. Aka I support small government conservatism. What you support, that you must figure out for yourself.
There is only one reason Stewart got close to Gillespie and that’s because he ran that absolutely nasty campaign ad and Gillespie did not counter. He accused Gillespie in the ad of being FOR partial birth abortions. As a prolife person who works vigorously to eliminate abortion, I find it to be the lowest of the low to make that accusation. The National Right to Life organization endorsed Ed Gillespie last week. Here’s their endorsement… http://www.nationalrighttolifenews.org/news/2017/06/national-right-to-life-endorses-ed-gillespie-in-virginia-gubernatorial-republican-primary/ Here is one quote from the endorsement… “Ed Gillespie’s position on life reflects strong pro-life values,” said Karen Cross, National Right to Life political director. “As a fellow Virginian, I’m pleased that on June 13, I can vote for a pro-life gubernatorial candidate, who can win in November. That candidate is Ed Gillespie.” Stewart has no shame, no integrity and no bounds, but hey, no one who watched his failed Lt. Governor run should be surprised.
And his standing up for heritage, something that was important to those in SW and other parts of the state with long-standing roots in Va. Ed’s campaign was probably surprised this was even a campaign issue and just wished it would go away.
Sir or ma’am, there is nothing wrong with standing up for heritage. Stewart’s way of doing it caused division among people. I believe Gillespie’s position on statues is that it is a local issue; I think that’s reasonable. As a conservative, I do not like big government telling everyone what to do. I personally believe the statue issue was over blown. If the people of a town want to take down a statue, they should take it down…if they want to keep it up, they should keep it up; it’s their town. Stewart’s campaign was all about fear, emotion, lies and divisiveness. And that works on some type of people.
Thanks – I’d tend to agree with you. However now it seems that if you support less laws and less government and more local control, that makes us communists.
Ed’s position that each town or city in Va is its own independent fiefdom on this issue is a non-starter with me, and is basically a green light to allow liberal cities like C’ville to take them down.
ALL OF VIRGINIA’S HERITAGE BELONGS TO ALL VIRGINIANS. If that is his stance you can write me and many other Corey supporters off as doing much for Ed now. ED BASICALLY HIT UNDER A ROCK DURING HIS CAMPAIGN AND LET HIS SUPERIOR FUNDING DO THE TALKING, and several questions on illegal immigrants and other things posed to his campaign asking for clarification went unanswered.
Well, you and the “other Corey supporters” have a lot of thinking to do. You all will be in the same position as the nonTrump supporters were in after the RNC Convention. Would they rather have Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump as President? It didn’t take long for them to come to a logical conclusion. They rose to the occasion and got President Trump elected. Without them, President Trump would not have been elected. So the question you and the “other Corey supporters” have to ask yourselves is, would you rather have Ralph Northam or Ed Gillespie as Virginia’s next Governor? Will you folks be able to “rise to the occasion”? This post is only to provoke thought, not anger.
Well, Stewart rightfully said that establishment Republicans and Democrats are one and the same. That being said, Stewart refused to concede to the Democrat Gillespie.
Also, by running for state wide office again after his loss for Warner’s seat, Gillespie has refused to concede that Virginia voters do not want him in office.
The somewhat nasty tone of this post does nothing to encourage Corey’s supporters to work hard for the ticket, yet that’s exactly what I plan to do. TBE was wrong, the pollsters were wrong again, and it might be (past) time for those people to dial it back a bit. The pre-2015 status quo is being successfully challenged, pay attention.
Disagree. TBE and its posters, although not the Gillespie campaign itself, are the main reason I will Not be bothering with Ed’s campaign. Ed has no charisma, does not stand for Virginia heritage, will permit localities to declare themselves sanctuary cities and tear down statues, and illegal aliens and MS13 will continue to destroy what was once a great state.
Ed and and his people have only ONE thing in their favor, and that is NOT being Ralph Northham. Va Republicans could have done better.
Sounds like Corey and his people are planning on seceding. Put extra gaurds at whatever RPV Fort Sumter is.
It is said that General Jackson was asked if he would defend Va. If we voted to secede the Union. It is said hid response was if votes to I will defend her.
Irony here Stewart wants to persevere our History.
How will Ed uphold Statute
54.1-1100 , The Va Employment Compensation Act , defend it?
Governor McAuliffe s EO24?
Ed said “I will cut regulations and this will spur job growth”
A great man said ; “Capital is the fruit if labor”,
Thanks Honest Abe!
Some are apparently not learning from History , Ed?
Capital does not produce labor.
Any debaters on this policy?
He fails to produce one , thus Santurary , furthermore he supports deadbeat dad’s by inactions.
Count me in.
Congratulations to Ed you beat a Candidate who TBE said ran a “dumb campaign ” by ONLY 4,200 votes.
The RPV won , your man won or did you.
It appears that the Dems turned way more voters ( it just has to be illegals).
You have your work cut out for you.
Ed is now running against Dem policy , current and projected.
So Republican Gubernatorial Candidate put facebook down for one minute ( enough of the fake news)
You see I am a real working man , I
inquiring about your policy on McAuliffes EO24.
1) Will it stay in place as it is?
2) Any changes to it ?
3) What changes?
Ed you see this right to work, pro life, pro 2nd ammendment, pick up truck driving, employer , bussiness owner, tax payer and yes a white man wants to know how you will confront fraud that cost Va jobs in lieu of jobs OFF the books that are subsidized by Va taxpayers and cost Va’s general fund.
It appears that Northam will be up to speed with McAuliffes endorsement.
What will you say if hit with this in a debate? “It is an act of love”?
And he had to spend 4 million more than Stewart to do it.

That’s not true. No one said they’re vowing to not support Ed. Why would you even say that? Everyone has worked hard, especially Corey!
You must not be on Facebook because that’s exactly what they are saying.
I’m curious why you are such a supporter ? I mean it in a serious way, what’s Gillespie got that makes you want to support him ? Frankly I’m not interested in establishment candidates, and certainly not ones that do bailouts.
I am on Facebook and you are flat out wrong, Jeanine!
Most of us have always said we’d support the eventual nominee, including me.
Why are you so churlish and bitter? You’re not doing Gillespie any favors with your divisive, insulting tone to Corey supporters.
Either way (Ed or Northam), we have lost our state, thanks to people like you.
What did I do to cause us to loose our state.
How much did Gillespie spend on advertising in BE for starters.
And, apparently Ed has you on speed dial. Why$
Leftist activists destroying our heritage and voting to tear down statues, and people like NJ ed who “don’t get” this state. If that Lee statue is gone or slated to be gone by Nov. and Ed does nothing, I WILL NOT BE VOTING FOR HIM.
OH, COREY APPARENTLY SWEPT LOUDOUN,.
Who are “they”? If it’s on Facebook, you have references/names.
It’s not like these would be the dreaded “unnamed sources” that the dastardly media likes to cite. You remember the media right?, the ones you like to bash for their lousy credibility.
I don’t see the harm in him giving a concession later. Everyone always wants immediate concession when its the other guy in a close election.
