Press Release:
WATERFORD, VA, January 7, 2025 – Delegate Geary Higgins (R-Waterford) released the following statement announcing his intent to seek reelection as the Delegate for the 30th House District in the Virginia General Assembly, the oldest continuous legislative body in the New World. The 30th District spans western Loudoun County and northern Fauquier County.
“It has been one of the highest honors of my life to represent my friends, neighbors, and fellow Virginians in the House of Delegates. I was able to accomplish a great deal last year, but there is so much more to be done to improve the lives of each and every Virginian.
We must keep fighting for tax relief, better education, parents’ rights, keeping men out of women’s sports, ending sanctuary cities, land conservation, historic preservation, and sound energy policy.
This election is going to be a real battle for the future of our Commonwealth. Republicans are down just one seat and we must hold the line in this district if we want to take back the House and accomplish our shared goals.
If given the opportunity to serve you in a second term, I will continue to fight for what is important to you in the General Assembly as a strong conservative voice, but also one that is not afraid to work across the aisle to preserve the history and land in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties.
As I head down to Richmond, know that I am headed there to work on behalf of you and your family — to keep you safe, ease your tax burden, and get government out of the way so that you can flourish. I look forward to continuing to serve you and ensuring that Western Loudoun and Northern Fauquier remain the best place to live, not just in Virginia, but in the country.”
