But not in a good way. The new Democrat Delegate in the 10th district, Wendy Gooditis, seems to be like a dog who chases a car and isn’t quite sure what to do with it when she catches it.
Delegate Gooditis has introduced HB569 which would require the Commissioner of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to annually report their activities on suicide prevention. However, this is already being done. The report is released annually to the public in December. Watch Delegate Gooditis trying to explain her bill to Delegate Rob Bell, here. Begin at 9:41:02 to see the exchange. Fortunately, Delegate Gooditis was rescued by someone from the Department of Behavioral Health and Development services to explain her bill.
Another bill introduced by the Delegate is HB1437 which would allow the Town of Middleburg to impose taxes on businesses at whatever rate they choose, without any limits. Needless to say, businesses in Middleburg are not happy about the bill.
I suspect voters in the 10th district are regretting their choice to elect Wendy Gooditis over the very able and accomplished incumbent, Randy Minchew.
