Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell (D-Fairfax) has told Governor Youngkin that there will be no repeal of the car tax and no reduction in income taxes.
From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:
“Any of those discussions about cutting taxes are completely unrealistic,” he said. “We are not funding … core education services at the level that Virginians expect.”
As expected, Democrats want more money going to education despite the decreasing numbers of K-12 students in Virginia and more money for the black hole that is Metro.
The Governor has a very different approach.
Read more of the Democrat proposals for spending our money here at the RTD.
(Why oh why didn’t the Governor and Republicans make the car tax an issue during last year’s campaigns? It could have won us the election. Now, as Surovell says, the issue is DOA.)

Gov. Red Vest proposed income tax cuts for the wealthiest among us, echoing Ronnie Raygun’s ridiculous, failed “tinkle down economics” — which has NEVER in history worked.
To replace lost revenue, he proposed an INCREASE in sales tax, which is a regressive tax because it hits mid- and low-income people hardest because they spend a greater percentage of their income on things that are subject to the sales tax, thereby paying MORE taxes than the wealthy, who are favored by Republicans even though they contribute less.
If you are so worried about poor people perhaps you should not vote for a party that has opened up the border. What, useful idiot do you think adding millions of poor people to the US to use services and crowd out the housing market does for actual middle and lower class Americans, you moron? And what do tell us Democrat idiot, does adding poverty to communities do to the middle class tax payer?
I will answer that for you because you are too stupid… It makes your taxes go way up…
And you are about to tell me about how Biden has secured the border..What is the mayor of NY complaining about then as to having to house tens of thousands of new residents from Biden’s border…
Hate has no home here Doleman … !!! the illegal immigrant population cannot afford NoVa anymore so they are heading South to Central VA and Richmond… But you keep on virtue signaling you useful idiot..
Speaking of education . . . what is a “black whole”?
It’s a mistake, a typo. But thanks for asking.
Gotta pay the bills. I will avoid the typical polarizing generalizations because they achieve nothing.
America is a nation built on courage not fear therefore we must seek representation and legislation that is courageous enough to govern comprehensively and justly then and only then will we be back to electing
Statesmen of a Free Nation that is of The People by The People and For The People.
I do have to humbly ask you;
Just what was the purpose of SB121?
I’ve taken the first steps to make sure the most this state gets from me is the car tax. Maybe next year they won’t even get that much.
You are right regarding questioning the repeal of the car tax before the election.
Democrats are the party of the unproductive welfare class. They will always oppose tax cuts for the ever shrinking worker class.
Democrats believe it’s their money and that is a major problem.
I hope that all of you here can follow what I write. I know that some of you must be employers that are involved in your books and don’t just let the accountant take care of them.

Is spot on
“The Rich Men North of Richmond”
except now our General Assembly gives credit to it being from Richmond North.
I like to say;
The DCiznation of Virginia must stop.
I want a complete repeal of the personal property vehicle tax. It is absolutely awful to charge a tax for owning transportation so you can get to work. The crooks already tax the worker’s income.
Speaking of income tax;
I propose we implement a 30% tax reduction on wages filed under the W2/W4 wage system.
This reduction will help;
Working families
Also be applied to the percentage of wages that a self employed individual pays themselves through their LLC or S-Corp
AND
assist in bringing those out of the shadows of Employee Misclassification which hemorrhages taxes from Virginia’s General Fund.
A WIN WIN for everyone!
