Disney’s Snow White proves that Political Correctness is Consequential

I will start off by stating that I have not seen nor do I personally plan on seeing the new live action remake of Disney’s Snow White. Of course despite the controversy Disney has been surrounded by in recent days, my family and I still enjoy the classic Disney cartoons our parents and even grandparents grew up with (thanks to DVD/Blu Ray copies we’ve invested in prior) and by means of YouTube our son loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (and yes we monitor what our son is exposed to). 

However Disney’s latest installment has gone rogue with bringing in political correctness and has shown that actions and being politically correct have consequences and now those involved in the project are learning the hard way as the film has fallen short of Box Office expectations and is a slow and sinking ship. 

Rachel Zegler who stars as Snow White herself has done no justice for herself and her fellow cast and crew by her display of radical and liberal behavior and here are a few facts and quotes from her that show such dangerous activity. 

1. Not long after the 2024 Presidential Election, she had a bold and firm message for President Donald Trump and his supporters. “F**k Donald Trump and May Trump supporters and Trump himself never know peace.” While she has since apologized and has called for peace, while I don’t know her heart it’s almost likely that she is only sorry that she has driven away those who would have paid money to see her film.

Actions speak louder than words and if she truly is repentant of her remarks then why not walk the walk. She should show some humility, and instead of gloating on the film being #1 at the Box Office, especially in the event of no real competition, face reality that the film is a critical and commercial failure that will be lucky if it even breaks even and humble herself and own the fact that this is low quality especially in the standards of Disney. 

2. Did you also know that Miss Zegler is anti-Israel? Yes, you read that right and she has displayed that she is unapologetically a supporter of Palestine. Gal Gadot who portrays the Evil Queen in the film is a native to Israel and has taken a stance in the pro-Israel movement. Good for her. 

As many of y’all who read my articles know that I am unapologetically supportive and stand with Israel as they are God’s chosen people and you know that I have no tolerance for antisemitism which has no place in civilization. I know what the Word of God says about Israel and I will defend her till I take my last breath. “I will bless thee that bless her and curse thee that curses her”. God said that, not me so take it up with Him if you have an issue with that, good luck to that. 

3. Instead of using actual human beings (created in the image of God) that have dwarfism to play the part of the Seven Dwarves, Disney took it upon themselves to replace them with CGI Characters. This move was criticized by actor Peter Dinklage and stuntman/actor Jason “Wee Man” Acuna both who have dwarfism. Regardless of the reasoning behind this, this scenario screams political correctness and is more discriminatory in itself than it is helping the cause. 

Kinda reminds you of when cancel culture went after the Washington Redskins and the Cleveland Indians, all claiming the franchise names were discriminatory towards Native Americans when in reality the names honored Native American heritage and the fact that the pressure to change the name was a slap in the face to their heritage and even discriminatory in itself. As one who comes from Native American ancestry, I can say that move was pure disrespectful and the new names are flat out embarrassing. 

Don’t think for one minute that cancel culture is dead or is on the verge of kicking the bucket as it is alive, unfortunately well and is deceptive and discreet in every move it makes. 

I’m sure if we continue to dig deeper into this movie in search for more of the political correctness and inserts of the Liberal agenda, then our finds would start to stack a mile high, however I think you get the hint at the actions of some of the executives and the star of the show Miss Zegler herself are only hurting themselves as well as those on the set who were trying to do what they love to do, display their God given talents and even just collect a paycheck. all by using this platform for entertainment purposes to get their agenda out to the precious and yet fragile minds of children and even maybe use it for subliminal messaging. 

Jonah Platt, the son of the film’s producer Marc Platt did not mince words as he called out Miss Zegler on a comment from Instagram inresponse to an opposing comment for ruining his father’s movie with her political shenanigans. And I could have said it better myself: 

“@brynnd13 You really want to do this? Yeah my dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for. This is called adult responsibility and accountability. And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box of ice. Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions. Tens of thousands of people worked on that film and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of all the colleagues and crew and blue collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful. While she isn’t the only one to blame for the poor choices made in the production of this film, Miss Zegler sure didn’t help herself nor her fellow co-workers by her idiotic and radical words and actions and again she should be ashamed of herself especially since she has little girls that look up to the character she portrayed on screen and she is setting a poor example of being a role model, and I use that term loosely in her case. 

Folks, may I encourage you that instead of paying your hard earned money to see this politically correct propaganda in disguise, take your children and your family to see a good movie, may I suggest “The Last Supper”? Christian music artist Chris Tomlin serves as Executive Producer for the film depicting the final days of Jesus.

My wife and I saw the film a couple weeks ago and I will say it was a well done film and it was also time and money well spent. (I’m not sure how much longer it will be in theaters or if it’s still being shown) but also may I even suggest the critically acclaimed series “The Chosen” who will be showing episodes of season 5 starting this weekend. 

And for the little kids and adults alike on the weekend of April 11th, “The King of Kings” which features an all star cast in an animated telling of the life of Jesus as told by Charles Dickens to his son. If you’re gonna spend your hard earned money on a movie, then start with something inspired by the Word of God and that will teach your children morals, values and principles. 

Bottom line, Political Correctness has consequences, if you want to watch Snow White then I suggest going back to the classic 1937 animated feature of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” which has no hidden agenda and proves that if something isn’t broken, don’t fix it, Go woke, Go broke.
