Virginia’s death toll from the COVID-19 virus has jumped to 12 with 7 in the Peninsula Health District, 2 in Henrico, 1 in Fairfax, 1 in Virginia Beach and 1 in Pittsylvania.

The Virginia Department of Health reported on its website Wednesday that 391 people in Virginia have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of 101 cases, or 34.8 percent, from the 290 reported on Tuesday.
Fairfax County saw an increase of 30 cases. The Richmond area now has 46 cases: Henrico 20, Richmond 13, Chesterfield 11 and Hanover 2.
There are coronavirus cases in 53 Virginia cities and counties, an increase of 11 since Tuesday.
The VDH also said that 5,370 have been tested for the virus in Virginia, and there are
ninetwelve deaths statewide.
Maryland has added 74 new cases of the virus with its total at 424. DC, Maryland and Virginia have a total of 1.003 cases of COVID-19. More live updates here.
