Unfortunately those supporters don’t live in Virginia and they aren’t among the grassroots. They are wealthy New Yorkers.
On March 25 Mitt Romney will host a reception for Gillespie at Essex hotel next to Central Park followed by a dinner at the home of Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman. To attend the reception each guest will contribute $1,000. To attend the reception and dinner, they will donate the maximum legal contribution of $5,200 per individual.
