Ed Gillespie won the weighted vote at the convention just a whisker under 61%, Shak Hill had 37.64%, and the other two candidates received about 1.5%. Shak did very well for a candidate who was largely unknown across the state with almost no funding. Some of his voters in the 7th district stayed home to work for Dave Brat whose primary against Eric Cantor is on Tuesday. With their votes Shak’s final percentage may have been another point higher.
