On Super Tuesday, March 5, there will be five candidates on the Republican primary ballot for President. Rich Anderson, chairman of RPV, announced the candidates. They are former President Donald Trump, former Ambassador to the U.N. and Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
In Virginia to qualify to be on the ballot each candidate must have 5,000 signatures with at least 200 from each of the 11 Congressional districts. Thursday was the deadline to file those petitions and tomorrow is the deadline for Republicans to verify those signatures.
More than a dozen states will vote on Super Tuesday, one-third of the primary vote. More on Super Tuesday here.
In addition to President Biden, two other Democrats have filed to run in the Virginia primary, Representative Dean Phillips (Minn.) and author Marianne Williamson. Because Virginia primaries are open, it is expected that many Democrats will crossover and vote for Trump on the Republican ballot.
Third party candidates have until August 23, 2024 to file to be on the ballot in November.
Primary in-person voting begins in Virginia on January 19, 2024.
More on the story here.

Trump is polling in the high 60s. The primary should be canceled. Trump is the nominee.
As a Glenn Youngkin voter I am so thankful that his political career will be coming to an end soon and he will never be President of The United States.
Trump is the ONLY candidate with actual concerns of illegal immigration and the fortitude to do something about it.
Abbott we see 👀 you 👍, good job!
Trump
2024 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
because he is not a Va Republican
“ Trump is the ONLY candidate with actual concerns of illegal immigration and the fortitude to do something about it”
Right, he doesn’t condone illegals (pfft, yeah right) and he’d rather go bankrupt than pay his legal contractors. Thats a helluva business plan. But I’m sure you’d be good with not getting paid for services provided though correct AA?
But you are correct in that I would still vote for him if he’s the nominee. Not because I think he gives a shit about anything other than himself but at least he’s open in his disdain. And I think it’s high comedy watching the “holier than thous” twist themselves into a pretzel making excuses for him. He’s shining the light on all the rats and exposing them for the hypocrites they’ve always been
I like that;
“Exposing the Rats”
Ken Cuccinelli said;
“You can’t break up rat families”
Ha!
Looks like the rats are getting bolder.

Voting season commences….
i actually think a lot of Dems will vote for Dean Phillip especially if he gets a bounce in New Hampshire and primaries between then and Super Tuesday, which is Virginia
