Former Speaker of the House of Delegates Eileen Filler-Corn has made the decision not to run for Governor but will seek the Congressional seat next year in the 10th district being vacated by Democrat Jennifer Wexton.
Wexton is not running again because she has been diagnosed with a severe form of Parkinson’s disease.
Eileen Filler-Corn lives in Springfield in Fairfax County and not in the 10th district. Living in the Congressional district is not required to run but most do, and most Democrat candidates find a way around that pesky tradition if they want to run in a district not their own.
More on the story here.
