Governor McAuliffe and Charlottesville Mayor Signer addressed the press on Saturday and made it very clear white nationalists will not be tolerated in Virginia. McAuliffe said
“Go home! You’re not wanted in this great Commonwealth. Shame on you. You pretend that you’re patriots, but you’re anything but a patriot…So please, go home and never come back; take your hatred and take your bigotry…

McAuliffe is an idiot on several accounts. First, the original settlers were NOT IMMIGRANTS. They were colonizers and settlers. They did not wish to immigrate into the indigenous societies that were here in 1609. Second, McAuliffe ignores the hatred and bigotry from Antifa and BLM. Third, just give the Antifa and BLM anti-whites time. They will come after the statues of Washington and Jefferson next and McAuliffe and his ilk will applaud them.
Last time I checked, it takes at least two sides to have a fight. The supremacist groups of the right and left are certainly two sides, but the antifas are consistently the purveyors of violence.
the US fought and won a war against the Nazis – now you are celebrating their existence…tremendously disrespectful to our greatest generation
Celebrating their existence? Where did you get that idea from It takes two sides to have a fight”?
I’ll be even more specific than he was. I condemn the white supremacists. But I equally condemn Antifa and Black Lives Matter that our Governor and all news reports somehow forgot to mention.
If you think the violent confrontation is the issue and not the nazis saying this is a white nation and get the jews out, then you are part of the problem
I am half Slavic and half Jewish. So you know where I stand on the Nazis, who killed more white Europeans than probably even Stalin himself. But, white Europeans formulated America and the American government. They made America. However, they were obviously in many cases cruel and wicked towards blacks, Indians, Chinese, and Mexicans. However, now white people, particularly white men are being scapegoated by PC forces for all that is wrong with the country and the world. This ganging up and attack on whiteness in our schools and universities is one reason why the Alt Right developed among young whites. By the way, the organizers of the Lee Statue march had weeks and weeks to organize this, and only two hundred showed up. I would say that neo-Nazism is not a problem.
Did you loose anyone in the Holocaust? I hope your Jewish ancesters are proud of you saying Nazis are not a problem –
Regarding the confrontation, the alt-right showed up hoping for a confrontation and got what they wanted –
The problem is that you and YOURS and TRUMP accept the alt-right as ligitimate
Bull. I have condemned the white supremacists quite clearly. I disagree with everything they stand for. But if you deny that the other side is also the issue, then you are part of the problem. People who proclaim that ONLY black lives matter are also racist. Antifa’s only goal is to riot. They are fascists, not anti-fascists. Yes, the Nazi and white supremacists are espousing hate, but so are BLM and Antifa. Pretending otherwise is like wearing a blindfold – and that’s the nicest way I can say it.
the problem is not that various groups clash, sometimes violently. The problem is not that BLM stands for blacks being treated fairly. The problem are the Nazis – we fought a war about this. The problem is the Klan. The problem are the white nationalists. The other groups do not propose ridding the country of all but themselves. Pretending otherwise is like you support that position – and that’s the nicest way I can say it. I could call you out for your racism and bigotry but I wont, this time
Bull. Hate is hate, no matter which side it comes from. I can only believe that you agree with the haters on the left. I’ve stated repeatedly that i condemn the Nazis and the KKK.. Yet you refuse to condemn BLM or the fascist groups that pretend to be antifascists. That’s curious, unless you’re a supporter of the haters on the left.
I think President Trump’s statements were actually what was needed to be said that extremist violence on the right (Neo-Nazis) and left (Antifa) is eroding our civility as a nation and directly threatens open dialogues. I think however the criticism of the President is based more on a political calculus by Democrats (and some establishment Republicans) and the media rather than any inadequate response from President Trump.
An unfortunate reality of politics is that a segment of each of the party’s bases includes extremists. The extremists on both sides are on a pendulum from passive-aggressive (those who unfriend any on social media just because they respectfully disagree with them) to the Charlottesville protestors (and counter-protestors). The liberal media would have many believe (and many do) that political extremists only exist on the right and the violent counter-protestors represent benign civil rights or social justice warriors (note – I distinguish between the violent and all counter-protestors, as not all counter protestors in Charlottesville were violent or even extremists). The political calculus comes into play because the parties calculate these extremists into their turnout numbers. If only Republican candidates have to denounce their extremists (the violent wing of the save the Southern Culture movement) then their overall turnouts are depressed and they’re less likely to win. It’s for that reason that Obama avoided “Muslim Terrorists” or McAuliffe passed on answering a question on Antifa. The media does a pretty good job too of giving liberal politicians a pass because they’re also in tha business of helping Democrats get elected. President Trump’s statements actually were very just in that he admitted this reality that both sides have extremists that have gotten out of control.
In conclusion, I probably need to add that I do not support the White Nationalist/Supremacists and/or Neo-Nazis, and am in no way trying to defend them. They should be held responsible for everything they did. I’m also angry they carry crosses and act like they’re somehow following Jesus. I just don’t like how some like to criticize the President for his response under a pretext of some just cause when it’s actually just usual politics.
In case anyone is interested, here are Ted Cruz’s remarks:
https://www.cruz.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=3280
TEXT OF EMAIL TO FIFTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT REPUBLICAN PARTY COMMITTEE below. I started a conversation with the Committee, and to my Delegate Rob Bell, about non-partisan work to stop all forms of hate violence:
Respectfully, after today,
can we perhaps agree that
1. Charlottesville City Council poorly planned and poorly communicated for this weekend and may have contributed to heightening the anxiety and anger audiences by their poor planning and poor communications (comments by the judge who issued the injunction requiring the rally in the downtown park suggest that the judge found social media or other comments by City Councilors and/or others offensive to an intention to protect Mr Kessler’s First Amendment rights; of course Virginia ACLU had argued that representing Mr Kessler)
2. Law enforcement plans, and/or chain of command, were inadequate to protect residents and visitors in the City (anyone watching live streaming or recorded video could see hundreds of crimes being committed with no police intervening; we just heard Attorney Fogel, a local Charlottesville attorney, and vocal Democrat, comment that it seemed that law enforcement ‘allowed’ assaults and other violence)
3. A comprehensive and thorough investigation – with state, local, and federal authorities – must be done, including investigation of all crimes involving hate.
Can Republicans reach out to to Democrats, and invite other Parties or parties, who have a stake in civil order and civil peace, to help restore civil order and civil peace that can be sustained?
Thank you.
So who will be next to have no place in America? Will antifa have no place? People who voted for Trump? Bernie Boys? ACLU Virginia for going to court to get this group a permit? Republicans? Luckily no one likes white supremacists, so it’s all good.
I voted for Governor McAuliffe because I knew prior to Nov 2013 that Executive Order 24 would be good policy , and it is!
Terry McAuliffe the man himself said exactly what needed to be said , this world is full of scum.
I also voted for Trump who I wholeheartedly supported prior to the Trump tower escalator announcement.
I thought Trumps comments were spot on!!!!
People better have this one right in America , the right to be left alone. Keep your damn hands to yourselves…
How are these protesters any different than a terrorist organization.
****Thanks to our two leaders who stepped up (immediately) and spoke with an American heart!!!!!!!******
Thank God we had someone who said what had to be said.
