“For all his wealth and power, he is still strikingly a guy from Queens. He speaks in American.“
As the great Yogi Berra exclaimed, it’s déjà vu all over again.
Demonstrating the enormous depth and breadth of the Trump earthquake is easily observable in the reaction to it by the “ruling class” on the left and right. The road from 2016 to here has been harrowing because the dangers for the elite ruling class in the US and worldwide are immense. Losing control of the steering wheel of power in the “new world order” endangers them politically, legally, and economically.
Perhaps no election since 1984 has provided such resounding clarity. This is despite the all-out war launched against Donald Trump. The ruling class, using its proxies in the FBI, intelligence community, and the legacy mainstream media, launched a coup against Donald J. Trump before his 2016 election in a stunning collaboration that is now all in the public domain, not that you’d know by their shameless pretense that it’s all a “conspiracy theory.”
They fought him tooth and nail for his first term, including the farcical impeachments, and engineered his defeat in an extremely dubious election (made more obvious by the 8 million “missing votes” that Mr. Biden is supposed to have received, which never showed up in this election). They tried and continue to attempt to financially crush and jail the former President through a series of federal and state charges that are uniformly laughable (one required a New York Legislature to change an existing statute to even file!) if you read them without Donald J. Trump’s name mentioned. All were adjudicated in stanch Democratic jurisdictions.
During the 2024 campaign, the now President-elect was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, in a case that still has far more questions than answers and reeks of incompetence at best or – God forbid – a deliberate setup to kill him. Shortly afterward, he was within a tee of being shot by a waiting gunman in Florida at The Trump International Doral golf course. The alleged shooter has obvious ties to the US government based on his international activities and funding. Yet, there seems very little curiosity in pursuing the obvious in either case.
Make no mistake – the forces arrayed against the new Trump Administration will be no less ferocious.
Every word and step he and his team make is already being second-guessed and criticized out of hand. And the corporate media pack of Jackals are working the political Serengeti, looking to take down a few of the inner circle – early “kills” to show Mr. Trump they have teeth. The attacks have already been vicious, cobbled together with absolute lies and half-truths, with no pretense of objectivity nor even basic decency.
This is how you know putting “America First” again has found legs – again.
There are more self-serving autopsies on the election than bikinis at spring break in Florida. Mostly, they are from folks who have been telling the world with glib assurance before the election that not only was Donald J. Trump doomed to a devastating defeat, but the Republican Party would be left in shambles as a result of his quixotic campaign.
And it wasn’t just liberal commentators – whom one must forgive because they’re always wrong. There was also a slew of pseudo-conservatives and Republican house pets for the big papers and cable outlets, prophesying that all was lost because of the toxic Mr. Trump and his brash style. And a handful of religious pundits remained squeamish about President Trump’s fallen “moral” life – and yet seem fine with a woman who rather publicly slept her way into high office and a sitting President who has a long history of sexual peccadilloes, plagiarism, and graft that were mostly ignored – even though well substantiated.
In truth, most of the commentators and pontificators have long-established records of being wrong on virtually everything – the culture, public policy, and politics. But they are never embarrassed nor lose a dime by being consistently wrong, just as the “ruling class” politicians never lose their pensions for gross incompetence. Nor do our top business leaders lose stock options for doing a lousy job. Nor do our top religious figures lose positions for emptying their churches and synagogues.
And therein is a dirty little secret of the “ruling class” that has driven the United States culturally and economically into the jagged rocks. Meritocracy, responsibility, and personal virtue have largely been replaced by a collectively fashionable social “conscience” based on emotionalism and a juvenile form of doctrinaire socialism dressed up as serious intellectualism, capped off with a virulent rejection of the Judeo-Christian ethos of the last two centuries. The left was captured in this orbit long ago and has a foothold even on the right.
Then along comes a guy from…Queens. He’s blunt, brazen and outspoken. For all his wealth and power, he is still strikingly a guy from Queens. He speaks in American.
He talks about Americans believing in winning again. He describes the self-evident; we have a lot of really stupid, greedy, and self-indulgent people running – and feasting off – the government and our major institutions. He proclaimed that they have stopped believing in our nation’s exceptionalism and have a misplaced sense of responsibility and duty to everyone but our nation and its citizens. He is clear: we have allowed crony capitalism and massive socialist programs to grow like Kudzu on the economy and have been telling hardworking Americans this is the new normal.
It has to stop, he says passionately.
Most of his supporters realize that he may not accomplish everything he has set his mind to, so they remain gun-shy despite his remarkable track record as a previous President. However, the furious, out-of-control reaction to Donald J. Trump validates why they voted for him, which may be the President-elect’s biggest advantage in his new term.
So, while the “ruling class” is in total revolt and incoherent, vicious hysteria, a lot of Americans are smiling to themselves. They’ve been reminded – we’re Americans.
Proud, hardworking, and hardheaded. Donald Trump’s good ear hears them loud and clear.

Gaetz is gone! Did a few big money, swamp dwelling, donor class Republicans, drop a couple dimes on a few Republicans in the Senate? Tell them they would cut the loot off if Gaetz wasn’t given the boot? So, did Trump have his COS or her assistant call Gaetz and order him to withdraw? And, to withdraw like yesterday. 😂
The game goes on!
Excellent report and commentary on the election. Thanks, Michael.
Yes, the radical Left is now grieving their unexpected loss, and their over-reactions will be obvious to all… a kind of spitting against the wind.
As a psychologist, I can confirm the truth that intense disappointment has significant psychological consequences. Such grief generally has elements of anger and needing to blame others for the loss… and in this case, to ‘fight’ even harder (in denial of their errors) to promote their leftwing ideals.
Some of them will get past it over time (time contributes to both the healing of wounds and the wounding of heels). For others the problem is characterological, that is, they have an unrelenting desire in the depths of their bitter souls to blame others for everything they do not like in life… and they may never get beyond their constant pointing of the judgmental finger. The blame game (externalization) keeps them from looking too closely within at the real source of their misery.
However, not every liberal will over-react and many will re-evaluate things… and turn moderate. A few will even turn conservative. If the economy and national moral values show improvement, this Republican victory will last a number of decades.
BTW, that is a great map! Tells the story, does it not? Makes me happy to be a country boy at heart.
What have you gained if you loose the House in 2 years and then the White House in 28’? You look at some of the radical, unqualified, way far right, nominee’s that Trump has appointed thus far and it is clear that you will lose in 2 years in the US House and lose the White House in 4 years. And then the cycle starts all over. Why shouldn’t the priority be to stay in office, not bounce back and forth off the walls between far left and far right. The Democrats along with their massive media support, and San Francisco federal court, will delay, delay, delay. Is Trump going to put a Fox News Studio in the White House? Does Duffy, Trumps Secretary of Transportation nominee, even have a license to drive an automobile? Why should I even comment about Gaetz? You cannot clean out the far left rank and file in government in just four years.
A bit hysterical, bro. I think you will have something far different to say in four years.
Eight years ago when Trump beat Hillary, using another name in the other blog, (Bearing Drift) I wrote the same thing about staying in power should be the priority. Absolutely nobody listened then and they will not now. Keep laughing. The US is over $35 TRILLION in debt and pays over $1 TRILLION each year in interest alone on that debt. Seventy eight percent of military age citizens cannot not meet either the physical or mental requirements to join the already dumbed down military enlistment requirements. Then, there is that BRICS thingy. See how the Trump farmers are enjoying the recent Russia-China corn deal. And, Republicans business owners will have absolutely no part of exporting their cheap labor, you can forget that too. Could it be that nobody wants to work for Trump is driving the nominee process to Fox News talking heads? Keep laughing!
Great post! It will be interesting to see what happens when Trump drains the swamp.
Political Kudzu: perfect analogy. The DC Sewer is in full retreat but their Alamo hasn’t happened yet. It will. Tens of thousands of useless bureaucrats just in DC employed not to work but to fill seats to justify the higher ups’ inflated grades and positions. The government has become bloated beyond belief and beyond repair. But, here it is draining American taxpayers to pay the salaries of the do nothings. Trump to the rescue! Early retirements for those who will accept them, reassignments to the hinterlands for those who won’t. Everyone above first line supervisors in the DOJ, FBI, CIA, DEA, etc. and start over with a reaffirmation of each organization’s true and original purpose.
