Speaker of the House of Delegates Kirk Cox is appealing to the Supreme Court to overturn a lower court ruling that said 11 House of Delegates districts must be reconfigured because they were illegally gerrymandered by Republicans. The federal court found that African Americans had been illegally packed into those 11 districts. The House has until October 30 to redraw the boundaries. Republicans believe the districts to be Constitutional and have now asked the Supreme Court to rule.
