Democrat Ibraheem Samirah was elected to the 86th District tonight but it is only until the term of the previous occupant expires which is November 2019. Ibraheem’s previous anti-Semitic comments have been criticized by the Loudoun County Democratic Committee (although they didn’t call him to withdraw from the race) and have been noted in articles by The Bull Elephant here and here. Many Democratic voters questioned on the way into their polling places were unaware of these controversial comments but the Democratic Party leaders are aware of them and the theory is they plan to throw him under the bus as soon as they can with primaries coming up in June.
