Today Delegate Chris Peace was able to turn out a large number of people, some of whom may have been Republicans, to cast votes in his pretend Firehouse Primary in the 97th district of the House of Delegates.
The Peace Pretend Primary was not sanctioned by the Republican party. Scott Wyatt was declared the nominee in the 97th district following a convention on May 4th. Peace appealed to the First District Congressional Committee, they denied his appeal and declared Scott Wyatt the winner. On Thursday the Executive Committee of the State Central Committee upheld the ruling of the First District and all information about the Peace Pretend Primary was deleted from RPV site. Peace continued on as if none of this had happened and continued to announce his Pretend Primary which was held today. According to the Peace campaign the results were:
Hanover county: Peace – 1,153 votes / Wyatt – 102 votes
King William County: Peace – 321 votes / Wyatt – 35 votes
New Kent County: Peace – 797 votes / Wyatt -40 votes”
We all hope those folks had fun voting in the Peace Pretend Primary because their votes are for naught. Scott Wyatt remains the Republican nominee in the 97th district.
