It’s over–Trump will be our nominee

The race for the Republican nominee is over. Trump won decisively in Iowa and we now begin the longest national race for President ever and Trump will beat Biden.

Iowa Republicans voted tonight and they overwhelmingly chose Donald Trump. With 72% of the vote counted Trump leads with just under 52% of the vote, followed by Governor Ron DeSantis with 20% of the vote and Ambassador Nikki Haley about one point behind him. Vivek Ramaswamy has 7.7% of the vote. Trump could win all 99 counties in Iowa.

As expected, Ramaswamy has suspended his campaign and endorsed President Trump.

In interviews Iowans were concerned (in order) about the very large influx of illegal aliens on our southern border, the floundering economy with high prices for things Americans have to buy everyday such as gas for their cars and trucks and groceries, our schools where children are taught too much about sex and gender issues while neglecting the teaching of real math, real History, and real English language skills, reading and writing. They are also concerned about foreign policy which Biden has bungled on so many fronts. In other words, like all Americans, Iowans are concerned about ‘bread and butter’ issues that effect all of us.

Iowans are turned off by the constant legal charges being brought against Trump. 77% of Iowans considered the charges to be political and not substantive. (Will Democrats ever come to the realization that with every legal charge against Trump, his poll numbers rise? Shhhh, let’s not tell them.)

One thing to be cautious of, as Trump’s poll numbers rise Democrats become more and more concerned about their candidate for President. Many will be looking to replace Biden and Harris, right up until the Democrat convention in Chicago, August 19th to the 22nd. Even then, the Democrats can still vote to replace the Biden/Harris team at the convention. Wouldn’t that be exciting?
