Nomination contests are always rough things. Usually the supporters of the losing side get their feelings hurt (often with good reason) and then over a period of time the party heals and we work together as one. And the nomination contest in Ben Cline’s former District was as tough and hard fought as anything ever. But Ronnie Campbell came out on top – by a single vote. This was a tough race, and hard fought by all 4 candidates who strived for the nomination. However the facts are as follows: Ronnie Campbell is the duly nominated Republican – and Ronnie needs our support. And I am more than thrilled to be playing a part in getting Ronnie Campbell elected – and so should you.
Here is what we are up against. We currently have a 50-49 majority in the House of Delegates. If Ronnie wins – then we go back to our 51-49 majority. If we don’t hold onto the 24th House seat, we know that the Democrats will go full bore on a platform of Planned Parenthood, anti 2nd Amendment, anti-traditional values, tax and spend liberal agenda. The best we can do now is to play defense against this agenda until we figure out a way to build back our majority and get Virginia back to its traditional roots of being a conservative state.
Simply put, Ronnie Campbell has been placed in this situation by God and circumstance, and he and Virginia need our help to get him over the top. The future of the Commonwealth requires that we put aside our bruised egos and get out and vote and volunteer so that Ronnie gets elected.
For those of you who do not know Ronnie, I suggest you take the time to get to know him personally. I have, and he is a fantastic Southern gentleman with a courtly and humble manner. We need more like him in Virginia politics. Ronnie has a campaign manager who is not only a good friend (Cody Hanshaw), but is one of the heroes who helped Florida elect a Republican governor in Ron DeSantis. The fact that Ronnie hired a well known conservative like Cody only further emphasizes my point that Ronnie Campbell is the right man for the job.
I live in Shenandoah County/Strasburg and it is a 100 mile drive to the 24th Legislative District. Yet I have made this drive several times since Ronnie became the nominee to volunteer – and will continue to make the drive each weekend until Ronnie gets elected. The future of Virginia is on the line, and we need Ronnie Campbell in the House of Delegates. So if your feelings or sensibilities were hurt by the Firehouse Primary, think how bad you’ll feel if the 24th Legislative District votes in an avowed Bernie Sanders Socialist like Christian Worth, who never met an abortion or tax increase or wasteful spending program she didn’t support.
The choice is clear – Ronnie Campbell for Delegate on December 18.
