It was announced tonight at Loudoun County Republican Committee meeting that Blue Ridge School Board Member Jill Turgeon will not be running for chairman of the Board of Supervisors as we had previously reported here. She has withdrawn her name from consideration for a very sad reason, a serious illness her husband is facing. Mrs. Turgeon will continue to serve in her office on the school board through her current term which runs through 2019
On Jill’s behalf the following message was read tonight at the meeting:
Dearest friends and supporters,
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing today my intention to suspend my campaign for Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for 2019.
As my friends, you all know that I have an unwavering commitment to faith and to family.
Therefore, I must change my path at this time in service of those priorities.
Without providing a lot of detail tonight, my husband is struggling with a serious health matter that will take my full and unfettered attention.
Undoubtedly, my family is at the outset of embarking on a long and difficult journey over the next year.
I thank all of you that support me and those that support the conservative ideals that we all share.Friends, you are a powerful and mighty group and I will not let you down.
I intend to continue my commitment to the School Board until the end of my term.
Please know that I also have a strong will and desire to lead the people of Loudoun County and intend to resume that effort at the earliest opportunity.
I will not forget you. I love this County, as do you, and I will be back in front of you, when the time is right.
In the meantime, please do not forget me, I ask for your constant prayers for my family.
Thank you, Jill Turgeon
Please keep the Turgeon family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
