Former delegate Joe Morrissey has a solid lead over his rivals for Mayor of Richmond. A new poll released from the Wason Center for Public Policy at Christopher Newport University shows Morrissey leading with 28% of the vote. His closest competitor has only 16%.
Joe Morrissey went to jail in 2015 for having sex with his office receptionist, Myrna Pride (aka Myrna Warren), when she was under the age. More details on that story and Morrissey’s rather salacious plea agreement is here. While serving his time in jail Morrissey was released from jail during the day to attend to his duties as a delegate in the General Assembly.
