John Reid continues to deny that he had any part in the obscene gay pornography on the internet that caused Governor Youngkin to ask for his resignation as the Republican candidate for Lt. Governor.
Reid’s anger has over the Governor’s demands has not decreased. Reid is now saying the actions of the Governor’s team amounts to extortion.
From WTOP.com:
>>>“They were told that if I dropped out of the race, they would purchase the opposition research and the lies and threats against me would suddenly stop. This is extortion, and it is illegal in Virginia. And I am more outraged now. I have engaged legal counsel to pursue all options against these people,” he said.
“The insiders in Virginia politics made a big miscalculation if they thought that I would bow down to anyone or run away scared,” Reid said. “I’m a conservative Trump supporter, and I’m gay, and everybody knows it, because I’ve told you in person and in the media for decades.”
“I am sickened and outraged at the weeks of veiled accusations and attacks on my family, and I’m not going to continue to answer a never-ending parade of questions and false accusations from people who we now know are solely motivated to stage a coup against a gay man whom they didn’t want to be their nominee but didn’t have the guts to run against,” Reid said.<<<
This terrible for the Republican party of Virginia and it needs to be resolved ASAP!
Here are some opinions on what happens next.

You voted for him You all where dancing in the streets celebrating when he ensured that CRT and DEI would be wiped from out schools.
What’s the problem?
I think it is time to move on Governor Youngkin has asked him to leave. He has said he would not. So he is our candidate. It is for the voters to ask how he would vote on various issues. That is just the way it is.
What this sorry set of circumstances demonstrates is the weakness of the Republican Party of Virginia. If we had visionary, energetic leadership, scouting for credible candidates on a year-round basis, we’d have a much deeper bench of talent from which to draw. I’m disappointed that Governor Youngkin, apparently, hasn’t worked hard to breathe new life into the RPV. He has such excellent executive skills, but that doesn’t always translate into political skill.
“Excellent executive skills”??? That’s why Carlyle Group paid him $40 million tax free to go away. He would be in over his head trying to manage a McDonald’s.
In 2022 he signed SB121 into law, this was an awful display of leadership.
1) When he did this he admitted that he wouldn’t use States Rights against the employment of illegal aliens and by doing this he further added to the fraud found in Employee Misclassification.
2) This independent contractor labor is “undocumented immigrant labor” that now (thanks to him) allowed to circumvent our
E-Verify laws.
3) Not much thought into undermining building trades labor that we Virginians spend in our high schools and community colleges to estimate the building trades.
Take notice;
He never spoke of this legislation and still doesn’t.
Being that Maryland has a high concentration of illegals and no E-Verify this opened up NOVA for a growth in illegal aliens working in Virginia.
Governor Youngkin did let builders come into our General Assembly and tell Virginia that you’re going to employ illegals, sad.
SB121 is Governor Youngkin’s Illegal Alien Sanctuary Employment Act.
Please excuse me;
Undermine Building trades (not estimate)
Concur 100% “This terrible for the Republican party of Virginia and it needs to be resolved ASAP!” as this plays right into the hands of the opposition …the timing could not have been worse. As the cartoon character Pogo once said “We have met the enemy, and they are us” 🙁
