“Three things cannot be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”
- Buddha
Sometimes we need to be reminded of facts. Just the facts. In today’s world many live their lives bereft of these cold, hard little fundamentals because our culture has become mired in a volatile mix of emotion and narcissistic thinking.
Like the dangerous and upending idea that men can be women and women can be men. Or the preposterous ideology that children might be born in the wrong body. It’s hard to believe that such hokum pervades not only popular culture, but the deepest stratums of institutional and intellectual life.
Academia. Medicine. Education. Even the religious sphere. All are imbued with the pathological dictums defined by gender ideology.
We are surrounded by lies.
Still, how many realize that the roots of this pseudoscience are lodged in the post-World War II world of academia, specifically that of Alfred Kinsey, the famed “sexologist” whose fascination with cross-dressers eventually became the crux of this research. Dr. John Money, another academic, a psychologist turned “sexologist” who established the Johns Hopkins Gender Identity Clinic in 1965, heralded as a pioneer in the evolving area of human sexuality, believed that sex – as defined by genes and biology – really isn’t immutable at all, that one’s sex was determined by the way in which a child was raised. Both men are responsible for laying the groundwork for the introduction of “gender fluidity.”
Sound familiar?
When such corrupt ideologies jump the academic rails, they often find their way to an equally hairbrained political base. Is it any wonder that all-things gender-woo land in the dysfunctional home of the Democratic Party?
Women and children bear the brunt of these lies.
A few weeks ago, Nicole Georgas filed a civil rights complaint against Illinois School District 109. Her daughter and her daughter’s entire PE class were ordered to undress in the girl’s locker room in front of a boy who claimed he was a girl. The boy, of course “identifies” as female. His choice to use the girls’ facilities is protected under law. Closer to home, a convicted tier III male sex offender under the guise of a “transgender woman”- Richard Cox – has repeatedly used multiple female facilities in the Northern Virginia area where he exposed himself to young girls and women. In Arlington, where Cox committed his most recent offenses, two at high school swimming pools during a community swim time, it is the school board policy and the county board policy to allow people to use the restroom of their chosen “gender identity.” Though he has served 5 prison sentences between 1988 and 2018, all related to lewd behavior/sex offenses, Cox was able to enter and use women’s and girls’ facilities, where he exposed himself to multiple females, including minors. He is finally in the Arlington County male prison where he awaits a hearing. Cox maintains that he is a “transgender woman” and that his civil rights have been violated, therefore he has every right to use and occupy female spaces. There is no guarantee that he will pay a high enough price for his heinous acts.
Meanwhile, in California and several other states, violent male felons, many who are sex offenders, are routinely housed in women’s prisons, where they share cells and showers. Female prisoners have been raped, assaulted, and impregnated by these men who have been deemed “trans women.” In what world might such things be allowed? Ask a Democrat.
And all of this and much, much more brought to you by the party that has spent a quarter century regaling their female constituents with accolades. Flaunting phony feminist credentials. And providing assurances that women, are indeed the party’s highest priority. In fact, our 44th President, Barack Obama gave a speech at the United States of Women Summit in 2016, an event attended by 5,000 women and held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. It was here that he moved his beguiled supporters with a bigheaded and self-indulgent pronouncement:
I may be a little grayer than I was eight years ago, but this is what a feminist looks like.
Arrogant? Risible? Simply beyond the pale?
Yes, yes, and yes again.
At the same Women’s Summit, Obama opined:
When I was growing up, fewer than 300,000 girls played high school sports. Today, because of Title IX, more than 3 million girls are on the field.
Title IX was the groundbreaking legislation of 1972 that did, indeed, allow girls to come into their own, to become successful and competitive athletes, to receive scholarships based on their unique athletic talent as females. To protect the legacy and future of women’s sports.
Ah, but wait. Was President Obama’s rhetoric that outrageous? No, not necessarily when placed in proper context. After all, he is the product of a party that believes the right hose, pumps, and skirt is all it takes to make a woman. Witness Admiral Richard “Rachel” Levine, former Assistant HHS Secretary under the Biden administration, who is frequently pictured wearing his official government issued navy blazer, skirt, stockings and a pair of sensible shoes. Admiral Levine, pediatrician, is feted as “the first openly transgender” in a high governmental position, a “trans woman.” Dr. Levine, of course, is a man. A very dangerous one at that.
______________
But history remembers the truth for those who see and hear.
Indeed. It allows us to capture reality. Grasp the cold and hard. Stick to the facts.
It reminds us that Barack Obama was certainly no “feminist,” rather the instigator of a litany of anti-woman sentiment and actions. Deftly maneuvered. And handily packaged in the slick language of “progressivism.” It began with a letter issued by Obama’s Justice and Education Departments stating that “gender identity is protected under Title IX.”
Ah, but here was the juncture in time when the fictitious category of the downtrodden “trans” person was under construction. An invented category of people whose civil rights were allegedly in the bullseye of a cruel and heartless society.
And so began the downward slide of women’s most basic rights under Barack Obama and Democratic legislators going forward. By redefining sex as “gender,” and proclaiming that one’s self-defined “gender identity” means that men, some outfitted in skirts and girdles, others simply coming as they are in beards and muscle shirts, could now “identify” as female. Here was the beginning of an unprecedented era – a time that will eventually be remembered as a tremendous throw back of women’s rights. A total and absolute denigration of half the human species.
Then came the Biden’s administration’s attempt to derail Title IX by undermining it with the bogus term “gender.” Thankfully, Jason Miyares and five other state attorneys general filed a winning lawsuit against the federal Department of Education in 2024 which overturned all of Biden’s attempts to destroy the protection of women’s sports under Title IX.
President Trump’s executive orders around sex and gender are also redress. Air and light. A chance to breathe. An excerpt from “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” issued on this first day in office, reads:
Efforts to eradicate the biological reality of sex fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being. The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system.
_____________
Still, there is a long way to go. Executive orders are placeholders. A respite in time. A moment, in this case to staunch the bleeding from so much damage done to countless women and children.
But how many problems originate from nefarious state laws and policies that validate the swindle of the “transgendered” person? Women and girls are largely unaware of the way in which the “trans woman” (men who think they are women) has legally usurped their rights. In many states there is no protection for children who are prey for gender clinics, doctors and other practitioners who administer toxic puberty blockers, wrong sex hormones, and surgeries to innocents.
Certainly, Virginia’s political landscape has allowed for a complex matrix of interlocking parts that defy reality and allow for the propagation of the trans delusion via statute and policies. Many “progressive” state agendas benefit from infusions of money from the now corrupt Human Rights Campaign and the once revered ACLU. Newly elected “trans” politicians (think Danica Roehm) bolster the bogus claim that this ideology is truly cutting edge and that the “trans” person is a maligned minority in urgent need of “inclusion” and rights.
Recall Democratic Governor Ralph Northam’s “Model Policies for Transgender Students,” which grew out of House and Senate bills. These “recommendations” push the envelope so far over the edge of logic and reason that most people would have laughed its authors out of the room little more than fifteen years ago. Full of nonsensical garble like “gender expansive” and “nonbinary” people, these policies permit and encourage boys to use girls’ bathrooms under the guise of, well, “trans.” Both girls and boys are taught the utter nonsense that they can be born in the wrong body. Governor Youngkin was able to roll back much of this claptrap, but large swaths remain.
Incalculable damage done to young lives is the result. It is not hyperbole to say that. Nor is it inaccurate to state the obvious: Many people have been grievously harmed by lies deliberately spread by an infrastructure, a business model, an insidious agenda that pushes gender ideology.
So many lies, inglorious lies have been intricately and deliberately folded into the Democrat platform, a party that has sold itself as the party of women for a very long time.
Take “The Virginia Values Act,” which codifies into state law the farcical idea that humans can change sex. This Act, signed into law in 2020 by Democratic Governor Ralph Northam, and pushed by a coterie of powerful trans activists and Democratic politicians, supplants the material reality of sex with the nonsensical idea of “gender change.” Many Virginia women are not aware that this Act effectively cedes their rights to men who think they are women.
This Act allows individuals to “change gender” on their birth certificate by claiming that they have had “appropriate clinical treatment.” A doctor’s visit followed by the self-proclamation, “I am a woman” will suffice.
_____________
Gender rhetoric is but one facet of the Democratic playbook bound together by a tangled spool of lies. But it is a mighty one. Tightly woven and deeply ingrained. At the same time, Democrats have pedaled their pompous, tired, and fraudulent brand of feminism for decades. “Women’s rights are human rights,” Hilary Clinton trumpeted in her 1995 speech at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. This would be the clarion call of her followers for decades to come. And for many Democratic women, Hilary Clinton remains the titular head of a proud brand of feminism. But the fact is, Hilary’s feminism has, in fact, gone sideways, catapulted off the rails. A feminism that Democrats held onto with gusto over the course of generations.
A feminism, it turned out, more akin to a 1984 sequel – if only George Orwell could pen his words again.
How else to describe a place and time where he is she and she is him, or maybe “they/them?” The complete obfuscation of biological reality. A world where the phrase “women’s rights” is a fatuous term.
A world where the sway and grift of a defiant and fraudulent Democratic Party has been exposed.
____________
But beware. The swindle is far from over. And the Democrat Party is down but nowhere near out. No matter what people say. Their tired screed, though absurd and nonsensical, has served them well with many constituents. And the party is deft at flipping the script, massaging the lies…time after time. Sleight of hand is the Democrat’s MO.
It will take a generation of vigilance to deconstruct the deeply anti-woman and anti-child actions of the Democratic Party. To dismantle the surreal nonsense of gender ideology. To teach young people, especially girls, that veins of misogyny are the Party’s life blood. Democratic rhetoric belongs in the past where its deeply regressive philosophy and anti-woman slant is wildly out of touch with smart, forward-looking people.
Fundamental truth, that. Spread the word.
