Around the Catoctin District of Loudoun county we have seen these signs for Democratic School Board candidate, Dusty Sparrow Reed:
The problem is, the signs lack the legally required disclosure statement stating who paid for the signs, per Virginia code. According to the code this form of advertising must have a statement that says “Paid for by _______________ [Name of person or political committee].”
Dusty Sparrow Reed needs to remove the signs immediately. I hope she doesn’t intend to use the signs at polls on Tuesday because she could face fines for each sign.
I am proud to cast my vote for the excellent School Board candidate in Catoctin who follows the law, Eric Dekenipp. I urge everyone to read more about Eric here. He’s a very impressive candidate who has the skills to manage our large school system while being a good steward of our money.

I am so glad Eric DeKenipp brought this “violation” to our attention. I had been wondering who paid for Dusty’s signs!!! I actually thought it might be a coalition of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny but the mystery has now been solved!
If these are the kinds of “insights” DeKenipp will bring to the LCSB, who could possibly argue against him?!
Eric had nothing to do with this article. Nothing.
According to you Democrats, laws are just for the little people, certainly not Democrats.
Jeanine, you obviously haven’t been paying attention. First, I am no Democrat. I am as free-market capitalist as they come. While I don’t necessarily advocate Dusty’s policies, she appears to be honest and transparent. DeKenipp and espeically the RINOs on the LCSB are nothing close.
Maybe you can take a look at the suits I have filed in Loudoun, Richmond and now the federal court (that one is under seal for awhile but the rest are posted online). In fact, the Democrats of McAuliffe’s administration are going to be answering why they defrauded the US gov’t in Richmond City circuit court in the coming weeks. I am quite confident Anne Holton (Sen Kaine’s wife) will be asked why she has knowingly defrauded the feds out of $100M’s. So be careful about talking nonsense.
And while DeKenipp may not have written the article, he sponsored Facebook ads using a post linked to this article. So he absolutely is responsible for his “insights” into this ridiculous non-issue.

So let’s just say I’m about the only one holding LCPS officials accountable under the law.
Please keep your personal issues with LCPS off of my blog. Please put them on your blog and not this one. Thank you.
Again, Eric had nothing to do with my decision to write this article. Nothing.
Jeanine, did I start the discussion of LCSB legal issues? No, that was you when you said “laws are just for the little people”. I agree with you. And I demonstrated how I was trying to rectify that situation.
The issue I commented on was Eric’s promoting your article on his Facebook page and making comments about how Dusty was not following the law. If these are the “issues” that Eric feels are important, i think the public needs to know them. Frankly, I would rather be discussing ways to improve LCPS including using VAMs/SGPs, providing better professional development to teachers, and paying teachers according to their skills as opposed to how many birthdays has passed. But “your guy” wants to focus on your article. So I thought we should reflect of what you all think is important. Do you not want anyone to comment? Or only blind sycophants?
Btw, I am happy to discuss any issue that you choose. I’m a big fan of Paul Ryan for many years now. I just wish the local candidates had something in common with Ryan.
What’s Paul Ryan got to do with LCPS?
Never mind. We don’t need to know.
What’s your motto Jeanine? Long live ignorance?
Are you seriously suggesting that you and Eric DeKenipp didn’t know who paid for the “Dusty for School Board” signs? Maybe Dusty’s campaign?
Btw, what exactly makes DeKenipp a Republican? He says he wants to raise pay for the highest paid teachers this side of I-495. Thus, he wants to raise taxes to pay for it. He makes no sense. Just a bunch of cliches. Can’t we at least get some intelligent local Republicans to run…
BTW, just who did pay for her signs?
