We reported yesterday about the arrest of Loudoun School Board member Joy Maloney. Today Loudoun County Republican Committee called for her to resign from the school board:
“This is not about Donald Trump or even politics,” said Will Estrada, Chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee. “Several other protestors peaceably demonstrated against Donald Trump. But not Joy Maloney. She acted in a way unbecoming of an elected member of a Loudoun County School Board. Today, the citizens of Loudoun County witnessed Ms. Maloney physically attempt to block Loudoun County citizens from exercising their Constitutional freedom to listen to a candidate running for President of the United States and decide for themselves what to think.”
“There was once a dark time in our nation’s history during the Civil Rights era when elected officials physically blocked the doors to public schools,” Estrada continued. “Ms. Maloney’s behavior today is embarrassing, immature, and – as witnessed by her arrest today – illegal. This is the United States of America. Elected officials must never try to stop citizens from listening to a candidate for elected office.”
“Furthermore, Ms. Maloney’s behavior today sets a poor example for the students of Loudoun County Public Schools. Not only did she physically block a public school door, but she trespassed, and then refused to respect our Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies and follow their instructions.”
The Loudoun County Republican Committee also calls on Ms. Maloney’s fellow elected Democrats in Loudoun County, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall, Leesburg Supervisor Kristen Umstattd, Supervisor Koran Saines, and Leesburg District School Board Member Tom Marshall to publicly renounce the objectively unacceptable behavior of Ms. Maloney and to urge her to resign from her position on the school board for the good of Loudoun County’s Public Schools and the integrity of Broad Run’s school district.

The above link goes to something about Gillespie and Warner.
Good on them, get rid of her.
Folks have had cows over Trump joking about a crying baby. Here, we have a grown-up crybaby. She’s supposed to be accountable for her actions, but I’m not sure if she should be spanked, put in time out, or just sent to her room. More at 11…
..,
Oh good Lord! Are the local republicans so offended by someone sitting down on the sidewalk that they need to expend an exorbitant amount of energy looking like children over it? If the local republicans aren’t offended by Trump, then good grief how can they posit offense at Ms. Maloney.
The problem is NOT Mrs. Maloney sitting on the sidewalk, it’s BLOCKING the doors to try and prevent others from hearing a presidential candidate. There were other peaceful protesters there NOT blocking entrances and they weren’t arrested. See the difference there?
Couldn’t they have used another entrance? Did anyone get video? Did the deputies work together to carry her to a safe space or did they have to call in a bucket loader or use some kind of winch and pulley?
You are bad and funny as hell! No, they couldn’t go through another entrance. Security was at that entrance.
No way she could have blocked the 6 door entrance!
They probably should have sprayed her with water to keep her hydrated and everyone could have walked around her until they got the harness in place.
Republicans seem to have no compassion for those infringing on their rights, such haters!
She was on the sidewalk at least a good 50 yards from the front entrance. But as I said that doesn’t really matter to political hacks.
So how was she blocking the entrance then? Furious Cartwheels?
And it does matter to political hacks!
Any time a prominent and photogenic democrat elected official does something stupid and gets arrested, a political hack giggles and rubs our hands gleefully.
Uh Oh, Miss Jeanine said “hell”. I am shocked.
Trump haters see no reasoning.
She was no where near the door. Look at the video. But that doesn’t really matter to you does it?
Please share the video, I want that on the jumbotron at our next smoke-filled room gathering.
No, no, no, People wanted to go there to see Trump, Maloney determined that they should not, so imposed her considerable bulk to that end.
It was her behavior and actions unbecoming an elected official that made the Republicans think she and Broad Run might be better off with another hobby than school board.
When she sat down and had to be carried off, did she also threaten to hold her breath? ; >}) Someone had written that her behavior was childish, I just wondered at what age?
Quick work.
Thank you, County Republican Committee.
Now there’s a waste of time.
We shall see.
Maybe, but perhaps she didn’t think her behavior was reprehensible, perhaps she was setting an example and truly believes every time someone claps for Trump, a tree spirit dies.
With Ron Meyer a voice of reason, and without a Delgaudio on the board for balance, Broad Run had to set the crazy dial to eleven.
