Now before we go jumping overboard here, this is one election and may be just a fluke. However in the Great State of Texas, the GOP flipped a State Senate District in San Antonio, which had been held by the Democratic party since the 1880’s. This seat, Senate District 19, went for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama respectively, and by double digits in each election.
But retired game warden Pete Flores defeated former US Congressman Pete Gallego in the run off election yesterday. Further increasing the GOP’s super majority in the Texas Legislature. In typical Texas Democratic fashion, the state party is stating that Gallego lost the election because everyone is focused on what a great race the Democrats are running against Ted Cruz. See if you can understand this. Democrats lose a seat they never have lost – they run a retread candidate in a reliably Democratic District, and they blame it on a national mood. The race wasn’t close, and Gallego conceded before 9 pm, having lost the race by 6% with over44,000 people voting. The Texas State Democratic party neglects to mention that the seat became open because the current incumbent – Carlos Uresti – was convicted of 11 felony charges in connection with a Ponzi scheme he was helping to funnel money to called Four Winds Logistics.
Now this does not mean that the GOP will sweep in November. We are still working into some rather strong headwinds. But it does show what can happen when the entire party is behind the candidate, that we can win and we will win.
So get behind Corey Stewart. Get behind Ben Cline, Rob Wittman, Barbara Comstock, Denver Riggleman, Morgan Griffith, or whichever candidate it is in the district you live in. Write a check, knock on doors. Call some of your friends. If this is too difficult, write a letter to the editor in support of your nominee. Don’t tell me you there is no time in your life to do these things. We can always make time. Don’t worry about your candidate not being perfect. No such thing as a perfect candidate. Whoever we are running is 10x better than the left wing leaning stinking pinko that the Democrats are putting up.
Democrats talk about a blue wave come November 6. Trump and some Republicans talk about a red wave on the same day. I can’t tell you, nor can anyone tell you, what definitely will occur on November 6. But I can assure you that if you don’t vote and support Republican candidates, you and everyone else will be sorry come 2019.
