There is very little variation in popular baby names for girls. Just five names dominate across the country and they all end in “a”. Someone needs to give parents in Florida a clue. Isabella is so 2007.
There is much more variation in boy’s names, 12 different names. Once again, Florida is the outlier with Jayden. Seriously? Jayden? The name Mason is even worse. Didn’t that peak about 20 years ago? Interesting that Nevada and Massachusetts are also outliers with names that were popular a generation ago. Jacob has been in the top 5 for boys since 2000 when it knocked off Michael’s 50 year reign as the favorite name for boys.
