New poll in Virginia shows Republican candidates closing the gap

written by Jeanine Martin October 12, 2025

There is good news in the latest poll from the Trafalgar group, one of the most accurate pollsters in previous years.

Republican Winsome Earle-Sears is within the margin of error in her race against Abigail Spanberger who leads by only two points, 47.7% to 45.1%. In the race for Lt. Governor the Democrat candidate Ghazala Hashmi leads Republican John Reid by less than 1%, 46.8% to 45.9%

More good news, our outstanding Attorney General, Jason Miyares, leads over the despicable democrat candidate, Jay Jones, 48.9% to 43.%.

Complete poll details are here.

Trafalgar got 2016, 2021, and 2024 correct. They muffed on 2020 and 2022. Where most other polling firms not named Rasmussen got 2016, 2020, and 2024 wrong.

I’ll take Trafalgar over ABC/NY Times/Quinnipiac etc any day of the week.

The Trafalgar Group is an opinion polling and survey company founded by Robert Cahaly and based in Atlanta, Georgia. It first publicly released polls in 2016. Trafalgar has been questioned for its methodology and for an apparent bias towards the Republican Party.

Notably, Trafalgar successfully predicted the result of the 2016 U.S. presidential election. They incorrectly predicted the result of the 2020 U.S. presidential election for Trump in several states.

Trafalgar’s polls for the 2022 midterms were inaccurate, predicting Republican wins or close races in multiple states where Republicans ended up losing by significant margins.

Va. electing spanberger will be the equivalent of nyc electing mamdani. No need to make all of Va. a sanctuary jurisdiction, imho.

Webster’s Dictionary defines the term hoodwinked as “to deceive by false appearance.” Perhaps a more illustrative example of this term would be the recent nefarious behind-the-scenes efforts of politicians or bureaucrats in the Democratic Party. Many continue to work diligently to spin false narratives that serve their self-aggrandizing agenda. One only has to look at the fifty-one members of the intelligence community who falsely declared that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.” Not surprisingly in one survey forty-seven percent of the respondents said that if they knew before the election that the laptop contents were real and not “disinformation” they would have changed their voting decision in this pivotal election. However, Democrats would like you to forget this inconvenient fact and “move on.”

As the laptop episode so vividly illustrated, many of the individuals that have worked consistently to hoodwink everyday Americans are part of the behind-the-scenes but ever-present Intelligence Community. As our election approaches ask yourself, given Ms. Spanberger’s political party and the Intelligence Communities proven track record of deception, do you really want someone like Ms. Spanberger who portrays herself as a “moderate” to hold power in Virginia? I think not.

This election I am voting as a conservative Republican with discernment, choosing truth and refusing to be hoodwinked by those who are systematically engaged in a long running and orchestrated plan to remain in power at any cost.
