A fourth unidentified object has now been engaged by military aircraft over the airspace of North America. Like the first PRC “weather balloon” which was initially visually detected by a civilian on the ground these objects appear to avoid detection by both ground based and spaced based warning systems. Clearly, this demonstrates a serious gap in our ability to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this nation against a possible first strike and a weakness in our defense posture.
The United States Constitution charges the Federal Government with its primary responsibility of providing for “the common defense” yet this past week has demonstrated that our focus as a nation has been clearly misplaced elsewhere and once again such as on 9/11, we have been caught asleep at the wheel and focused on issues that really do not have a bearing on the common defense. It is evident that the PRC has and is exploiting a weakness in both our detection and response capability and will continue to do so until the consequences of doing so are not worth the risk.
Unfortunately, we allow the PRC to steal our most precious technology and in the name of profit we have allowed American corporations to outsource the manufacture of critical material and medicinal supplies that are vital to our very survival as a nation. While our leaders pontificate about equity, diversity, and human rights China has a horrendous record of human rights violations and abuses. It imprisons and harvests organs from its political prisoners, yet our “leadership” looks the other way and pretends it does not happen.
Two-theatre war | Definition, Defense Planning, & Criticism | Britannica
Our military readiness and ability to fight the nation’s war continues to spiral in decline, we fail to meet recruiting goals, and our munitions that would be required to defend our nation have been seriously impacted due to our ever-flowing stream of aid to Ukraine to fight a proxy war against Russia. Our military was once able to fight two simultaneous Major Regional Conflicts or “MRCs” and I seriously doubt that we have both the material, manpower, and resolve to handle one. An incredibly sad state of affairs.
There is absolutely no excuse for what has taken place the past week. – none! Our political and military leaders can make excuses but when the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (a historically a political position) appears to be distracted by other issues such as “White Rage,” climate change, and other social engineering issues – it is time for a dramatic reset. As a former Officer, I took an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic”. It is clearly time for our civilian and military leadership to get back to basics before it is too late.
