The State Central Committee met today and voted 56 to 17, with three abstentions, to uphold the 1st district ruling making Scott Wyatt the Republican candidate for Delegate in the 97th district. This is the end of the line for Wyatt’s opponent Delegate Chris Peace.
All of the efforts of the Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia Jack Wilson, and executive director John Findlay, to help secure the nomination for Delegate Peace were for naught. All they did was engender more animosity toward RPV. They’ve made it clear they have no use for the grassroots in Virginia. I wouldn’t expect a big turnout this year at the Advance. Few will want to help fund the RPV under the current leadership.
The SCC also voted to hold a primary next year for Senate. Presidential delegates will be bound at the Republican state convention.
