Drug smuggling boat off coast of Venezuela (NBC news)

So please spare me the false outrage

written by James Poplar December 4, 2025

This past week we have heard the latest calls for the Secretary of War’s resignation over the alleged “double tap” of two survivors of a narcotics runner boat attack in international waters aimed at stemming the illicit flow of drugs into the United States. Of course these cries of righteous indignation come from the usual Democrat suspects were based on leaked information from an “anonymous” source.

This is not the latest manufactured “crisis” by Democrats to challenge the Executive Branch but merely the latest in a series – the “wrongful” deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia the pious Patron Saint of Democrats to El Salvador; the “bombshell” Epstein files that to date have placed many of the Democrat “elite” in compromising positions (no pun intend) ; the embarrassing and disloyal performance of the “Seditious Six;” the unauthorized destruction of the East Wing  of the White House, etc. etc. In short if one crisis does not work let’s try another …

Back to the subject at hand – the use watercraft by International Drug Cartels to import deadly drugs into the United States of America. As a refresher, narco boats targeted for strikes are stateless vessels, not flying any state flag, and are engaged in drug trafficking on the high seas. International law permits any nation to exercise enforcement jurisdiction, including the use of force, over stateless vessels on the high seas. Because these boats are stateless, the United States is lawfully entitled to interdict, board, and, if necessary, use force against them, including destruction, to prevent grave harm from drug trafficking. It is indeed unfortunate these crews of these vessels may be killed in the process but that it the calculated risk they take. The allegation that they are forced to crew these vessels is simply ludicrous.

Well back to the latest moral outrage that two survivors of one of the most recent attacks were “targeted for execution” following the destruction of the craft they were manning to circumvent International Law. Of course, until all the facts are made available, what is known is only speculation and I suspect the on-scene commander of the mission used the second strike to destroy the remains of the boat and not the personnel who manned it. Perhaps more importantly Democrats conveniently forget that President Obama used drones in the Global War on Terror to frequently kill civilian targets (to include women and children) several of which were American Citizens. The Obama administration’s official figures, released in 2016, stated between 64 and 116 non-combatants were killed in strikes outside active war zones between 2009 and 2015.

In addition independent organizations reported significantly higher numbers, with estimates of civilian deaths ranging from hundreds to over a thousand during Obama’s tenure, depending on the country and time frame. One reason for the discrepancy was the administration’s controversial method of counting all military-aged males in a strike zone as combatants unless proven innocent posthumously, a method criticized as “guilt by association.”

Democrats seem to have conveniently forgotten this chapter of history in the legacy of their transformational President. So if in fact two survivors of one of our narco boat strikes were in fact killed, it is unfortunate, but it is merely part of the pattern that has been ongoing for years formulated by a Democratic Administration. So please Democrats, spare me the moral outrage and move on to the next “crisis” nothing here that we have not seen before.

Hopefully, destroying drug running boats is the just the first step. We have been far too soft on drug users, dealers, and producers for decades. We need to destroy the means of drug production as well, regardless of where they are.

So many democrats have so little connection to facts and history. I suggest they start with the opium wars.

Yep, just as i thought …https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hegseth-did-not-issue-kill-them-all-order-during-venezuela-strikes-admiral-tells-congress😊

Adm. Mitch Bradley confirmed to lawmakers that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth did not order all survivors of counter-narcotics strikes to be killed — even as they had mixed opinions on whether the so-called “double tap” strike was justified.

An initial Washington Post report had claimed that Hegseth ordered those in charge of the counter-narcotics strikes to “kill them all,” leading Bradley to interpret this as orders to kill remaining survivors.

“The admiral confirmed that there had not been a kill them all order and that there was not an order to grant no quarter,” Rep. Jim Himes, D-Conn., top Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, told reporters after a briefing with the admiral.

Perhaps you can explain why the lies are changing?

First, this was a “drug runner” and the second strike was to destroy hazards to navigation.

Then, the second strike was to kill narco-terrorists hanging onto the wreckage.

Now, the second strike was to destroy “packages” in the boat — but the boar was supposed to have been destroyed with the first strike?

Oh, wait, excuse me — it’s “the fog of war.”

Meanwhile, an individual who was CONVICTED BY A US FEDERAL COURT OF MOVING OVEER 400 TONS OF COCAINE INTO THE US is pardoned by Trump 7 days after his conviction.

Know why he was pardoned? Because he was the former President of Honduras who forced through the Honduran Parliament a huge tax-free “development” off the coast of Honduras — a development of exclusive resorts and condos whose investors include — ready for this? — whose investors include the Trump family.

I don’t think you have much credibility. You skilled boat owners thought this was a fishing boat.
