So what happens now…

written by Jeanine Martin November 5, 2025

The bloodbath yesterday was beyond even my wildest, most pessimistic, thoughts. Such a sad day for Commonwealth.

The worst for me personally, was the loss of my friend and delegate, the wonderful, hard working, conservative Geary Higgins. He ran a great campaign and still lost by 600+ votes in what has long been a conservative district in the Commonwealth. Twelve other Republican delegates lost right along with him. Democrats had hoped to win 4 to 6 seats in the the House, but they won at least 13, with one race still undecided. That means Democrats now control the House of Delegates with a whopping 64 of the seats.

Amazingly our hard working AG, the wonderful Jason Miyares, lost to a man who advocates killing political opponents, babies and police.

So, now that Democrats control the state senate, the House of Delegate, and the Governor, what happens in Virginia over the next 4 years, and well beyond? We need only to look to the one party state of California for answers:

  • Taxes will rise, including income tax, sales tax, gas tax, grocery tax, and every other tax Democrats can conceive of. They have never met a tax they didn’t embrace.
  • Abortion laws will change so that women in Virginia can destroy babies up to 40 weeks in the womb. Virginia will become the “abortion capital” of the country.
  • Our schools will become even more liberal than they are now, with men being allowed in every girl’s bathroom and locker room.
  • More liberal propaganda in every school, every classroom.
  • Men will be allowed on every girl’s and women’s team sports, effectively eliminating Title IX and all women’s sports.
  • Fewer criminals will be convicted and those who are will serve less time.
  • More restrictions on guns, assuming they can’t eliminate guns entirely.
  • More restrictions on free speech so that no liberal ever has to have their whittle feelings hurt .
  • DEI will return across the state and state institutions with more discrimination against Asians and whites. Anything based on merit will be gone.
  • Redistricting will happen with Republicans being left with only two Congressional seats, perhaps only one.

I am certain that I have forgotten many other things the left has in store for us. Please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.

There was no way Virginian republicans would win this year. The shut down can be blamed, Trump hatred can be blamed. If a candidate does not have Northern Virginia the he/she loses. Really that simple. Northern Virginia is as blue as the sky. Maybe they will trash it so badly the voters will vote Republican again, some day, but I doubt it. This was a lovely state when I came here to live with my Virginian husband but now it is quickly becoming another blue cesspool. Jason lost because voters do not cherry pick and he was part of the package.

Every single candidate that Trump endorsed lost. Every one.

And every single democrat candidate who won represents the destruction of America. Frankly, everybody who is an American has lost even though you don’t get it. You won’t realize this until later as you are in euphoria mode right now. But then after the party and all the booze comes the morning after hangover – and this one is a doozy. You will continue to blame Trump for all the failures you have created, but it really doesn’t matter. A recession or depression doesn’t care about who to blame, they merely are. A little clue, watch not only the NYC real estate market but the entire real estate market.

What we now have elected is a tag team that thinks and acts like Mamdani. As NYC goes, so goes Virginia and that is very bad news. Islamocommunism is tyranny with a sharia flavor.

We would have done better to acknowledge the many gripes voters have with the way Donald Trump is (or isn’t) dealing with the issues most of us care about. Instead, we often seemed to act like we’d be ok with even more of the same.

Why come here with that sort of comment? This is a grievance safe space and we actually enjoy being mad as heck and trying to come up with one liner that will make our other malcontent friends laugh. Get with the program, Turk!

C’mon Turk, you know any deviation from the Party dictates around here and you’re branded as a lib’rul. Toe the line or off with your head.

How many professing “individual liberty” yappers wouldn’t vote for Reid bc his individual liberty that has zero to do with his political stances didn’t line up with theirs?

MICHAEL A CROGNALE November 7, 2025 at 9:58 am

Wrong party, only democrats do that. It is sad that many, most, chose to abandon Reid due to his choice of lifestyle. What those folks failed to remember is that Christ taught us to love the sinner but hate the sin. He might have been an outstanding Lt governor but we’ll never know. So you democrats trolls can chortle in glee all you like. Beginning 1 January what little freedom we had will begin to disappear. Slowly but surely like the old saw about boiling a frog. When the state becomes a sanctuary for the cartels and crime increases all over with drugs being sold openly. or seeing little girls raped in their bathroom. Or “men” taking the trophies in women sports. Or the state becoming a Mecca for infanticide with thousands of babies murdered up to and after birth. Recall Ralph, the baby killer, Northam’s words, “the child will be kept comfortable while the woman and her doctor decide to kill it or let it live”. Then, perhaps, the blinders you wear now will finally come off.

Your first sentence said “only democrats do that”. Your very second sentence gives exhibit A of Republicans doing it. Dude….. 🤦‍♂️

Then you proceed to identify me as a “democrat troll”. So the nitwits that wouldn’t vote for Reid are somehow more Republican than someone (me) who voted straight R but doesn’t just cowtow to your narrative? 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

The rest is just your regurgitated screed that has zero relevance to my initial post.

And you wonder why you’re not taken seriously….

Clarkes Gap (Catoctin District) majority voted for the Republican ticket.
I think democrat ticket voters bit off their noses to spite their faces.
Local politicians did not cause the shutdown.
We will now have judges that will wreck out state further.
May I remind all that carbon dioxide does not warm the earth. Spanberger wants to rejoin the RGGI – will cost Virginians half a billion dollars for nothing! Carbon trading is a scam.

We do have a glimmer of hope. The Virginia Senate is held 21-19 by the Democrats. The Senate is up for election is 2 years. That is what we Republicans MUST focus on! We must win back the Senate. Yeah, the next two years will not be good, but have been here before just a few years ago.

PS Jeanine. This is a job for Geary…it is what he wanted to do anyway, but got elbowed out of the race by the Party in 2023.

Abortion — Just stop! Abortions already is legal in Virginia through the 3rd trimester and has been legal for years. Why don’t people know this?
Think about all the Delegates and Senators who campaign on pro-life and ask for your money. The ones who have been in office for years and haven’t even tried to repeal the current laws. Ask them what they have done! They are lying to you and/or are stupid.

Here’s the Code.
There’s no time limitation. No legal up to a certain number of months.
There truly are no limitations. You even can claim a vague mental health issue and get the baby removed.

https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacodefull/title18.2/chapter4/article9/

Article 9. Abortion.
§ 18.2-74. When abortion or termination of pregnancy lawful after second trimester of pregnancy.
Notwithstanding any of the provisions of § 18.2-71 and in addition to the provisions of §§ 18.2-72 and 18.2-73, it shall be lawful for any physician licensed by the Board of Medicine to practice medicine and surgery to terminate or attempt to terminate a human pregnancy or aid or assist in the termination of a human pregnancy by performing an abortion or causing a miscarriage on any woman in a stage of pregnancy subsequent to the second trimester provided the following conditions are met:

(a) Said operation is performed in a hospital licensed by the Virginia State Department of Health or operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

(b) The physician and two consulting physicians certify and so enter in the hospital record of the woman, that in their medical opinion, based upon their best clinical judgment, the continuation of the pregnancy is likely to result in the death of the woman or substantially and irremediably impair the mental or physical health of the woman.

(c) Measures for life support for the product of such abortion or miscarriage must be available and utilized if there is any clearly visible evidence of viability.

I was shocked at the devastation. It made me wonder if the old democrat ballot box stuffing etc from 2020 had reared its ugly head, again.

As an election officer serving all day, I knew we were in trouble. I’ve always served in heavily democratic precincts and when I saw that physical voter turnout was significantly higher than projected, I knew we were likely going to lose significantly.

Any sign of election fraud?

Reply
David Dickinson November 6, 2025 at 12:29 pm

Nope. Under the current rules (and they change all the time), it is exceedingly difficult to commit election fraud at the polling station. There are several checks and balances to effectively prevent it. That said, there are a couple of weaknesses. First, mail in ballots are still a soft spot because you can never be certain who actually completed the ballot. Second–and this is new and concerning–voters without identification can complete a short identification confirmation form at check-in. My problem with that form is that the voter casts a live ballot and not a “provisional” ballot. When something is out of the ordinary, a voter can always vote but they cast a “provisional” ballot which means that it is not automatically counted and, after further review and verification by election officials after election day, the vote will then be counted. With this new ID confirmation, the voter gets a live ballot that gets counted with everyones regular ballots. There is no way to identify the vote once it is cast and pull it back if the person lied and represented someone else in the precinct. In fact, looking at the form, there is no way to track down the fraudulent voter to prosecute them either.

You say: “When something is out of the ordinary, a voter can always vote but they cast a “provisional” ballot which means that it is not automatically counted and, after further review and verification by election officials after election day, the vote will then be counted.”

Not true. I served 13 years on my county electoral board. We typically rejected as many as half provisionals because the individual was not registered, had already voted absentee, or other disqualifier.

AZ2VACONSERVATIVE November 7, 2025 at 10:21 am

So the person filling out that ID form isn’t even listed in the voter rolls? That’s a huge hole!!

David Dickinson November 7, 2025 at 12:16 pm

Mr. Fix It. I clearly stated “after further review and verification.” It’s not automatic. If it was, there would be no reason to vote “provisional.” AZ2. They still have to appear on the voter rolls. You would have to know someone who is not voting, or vote early and take someones vote to commit the fraud. There are actually some people (very rare) that don’t actually want to vote but show up to vote and leave a blank ballot so others can’t take their vote. That seems a bit paranoid to me, but it is theoretically possible.
