Surprises in Loudoun County

written by Jeanine Martin April 8, 2018

Saturday night was the annual fundraising ‘Jamboree’ for Loudoun County Republican Committee.  The first surprise was the large number of people in attendance.  The event normally draws between 100-150 people.  On Saturday night more than 350 were in attendance.  People from across the 10th district came.

The second surprise was how well Shak Hill did in the straw poll for Congress considering the large number of Comstock staffers in attendance and her incumbency.  The results:

Shak Hill  152

Barbara Comstock  196

The results of the Senate race were less surprising.  Nick Freitas won easily.  This is good news for the Freitas campaign because “as Loudoun goes, so goes Virginia”.   Loudoun is a bellwether county and the third largest county in the commonwealth.

Nick Freitas 179

Corey Stewart 103

E. W. Jackson 42
