The curse of the narrative

What happens when you lose control of the facts?  At least that is what was recently bemoaned at the WEF (World Economic Forum) by a representative of the mainstream media.  The problem expressed was that the media’s facts were continuously subject to challenge and, gasp, transparency.  (Simply put, once the media loses control of the facts, they lose control of the narrative.  The narrative then disintegrates and the media is revealed as untrustworthy.)  Here are a few of examples of current narratives lost to the facts:

The Republicans are obstinate and won’t approve the bi-partisan border legislation.  This narrative ignores the entirety of the Biden administration’s open borders policies and places the blame for the open borders on Republicans.  The problem, of course, is that the Biden administration destroyed the Trump border control  policies, enforced virtually nothing, and essentially created an invasion of America from around the world.  Significantly, legislation without enforcement is meaningless.  (Even Newsweek was forced to admit that Biden tripled the size of the illegal invasion that is now overwhelming such sanctuary cities as New York and Chicago.)

Republicans hate Taylor Swift.  This is a ludicrous narrative on the face of it.  She is the classic example of the American capitalist success story which Republicans love.  She has employed hundreds if not thousands of people and is a self-made billionaire.  She appears happy and in love, and that utterly angers the democrats.  If anybody hates her, it is the socialist democrats with their collectivist tyranny.

The COVID vaccine were never mandated and are safe and effective.  This may very well be the biggest lie found in the narratives.  COVID vaxxes were mandated around the world and in the USA, all too often with considerable punishments attached.  Moderna and Pfizer now admit that the mRNA vaxxes can be dangerous and can cause unknown injuries and deaths.  Even  those who have had aa single vaxx are at risk, and the extent of the risk is still unknown.

COVID was a naturally occurring viral illness.  It has taken some time but the narrative of “naturally occurring” has basically been refuted.  The virus was released from a laboratory in Wuhan China.  The “naturally occurring” narrative was apparently designed to protect American gain of function research and to protect China secondarily.  Rand Paul discusses this at length in a recent issue of Imprimus from Hilldale College.

The real danger is the suppression of facts and reason under the complaint of misinformation or disinformation.  The federal government and far too many politicians like nothing better than a compliant press willing to control the facts for propaganda and indoctrination purposes.  The narrative isn’t a blessing, it is a curse to thinking Americans who want to judge the situation for themselves.
