The Evolution of Warfare

written by Dr. Robert Warren June 6, 2025

It has been a few decades now, but I still remember the comment of the crusty admiral in charge of naval aviation.  After listening to my presentation, he said “Son, Pilot’s Shoot”.  He, of course, was coming from the generation where naval aviation ruled supreme and the battleship had been replaced as the main weapon of naval warfare.  What was I presenting? —- Today, you might call it drones of all kinds.  Air, sea, and land based drones working together in what was then called autonomous systems.

Drone warfare really creates major problems for any high value targets as the Russians recently found out with the Ukrainian strike on their strategic air bases. (The Ukrainian use of drones launched out of over the road containers is really genius particularly since many of the containers were being pulled by Russian truck drivers.  Reminds me of the clever use of exploding pagers by the Israelis.)  Many experts are calling drone warfare a new generation of warfare and I would agree for now.

However, there is another generation of warfare on the horizon and President Trump is attempting to deal with it using a futuristic shield called the “Golden Dome”.  Inherently, the golden dome is space based because it must be available to interdict any incoming or pre-positioned weapon of war.  (This is a nightmare because the “Golden Dome” must cover the entire land mass of the United States.)  Even if funded today, it is unlikely that the Golden Dome would be available until late in the next decade.  Essentially, the Golden Dome is Star Wars 2.)

I have, thus far, described two generations of warfare, but there is a third generation (?) and far more insidious.  It is the generation of genetic warfare.  Using genetic engineering, biological weapons with unique and unexpected properties can injure and kill in an infinite variety of ways.

If, for example, COVID and its presumptive cure, the COVID vaxx, are genetically engineered biological weapons, how would we know for certain.  The debate still rages almost five years after the COVID pandemic was first identified  At best, we strongly conjecture that the COVID virus was released from a laboratory in China and appears to be genetically manipulated.  What we don’t know is whether the release was accidental or deliberate.  There is, however, an interesting situation developing that shifts the argument away from pure accident.

A Chinese  couple associated with the University of Michigan has been arrested for smuggling the crop killing fungus, Fusarium graminearum, into the United States.  Both of these Chinese nationals are known to  have close ties with the Chinese communist Party.  (Fusarium graminearum is a disease affecting wheat, barley, maize and rice crops.)

Do we actually have three generations of warfare?  It appears that we can confirm the first two noted above as distinct generations of warfare.  However, the genetic warfare “generation” is a conundrum.  Is it a new generation or ongoing?  Notably, biological warfare of one kind or another has been used for thousands of years.  What is unique is the tie to genetic engineering and gain or manipulation of function.  (The Chinese government has been collecting massive amounts of genetic data from around the world.  They view such dates as of national strategic and economic importance.  It is likely that our genetic information is somewhere in a Chinese healthcare database.)

Trump hires only the best. The best what no one knows, but they are the best.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth seems to think that one of his job duties is filming sultry little sweat fests of himself working out on the beach to prove that he’s a big, strong man.

Hegseth used the anniversary of D-Day, the day that led to Germany’s liberation from Nazi rule, as an excuse to share a workout video Friday.

“We will never forget D-DAY,” he captioned the video of himself carrying a soldier along with several other military members.

Ironically, his boss did seem to forget the historical importance of D-Day during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz Thursday. After President Donald Trump called the invasion of Nazi-controlled Normandy “not a pleasant day,” Merz clarified that the day was actually what led to “the liberation of my country from Nazi dictatorship.”

But Hegseth isn’t alone in forgoing his actual responsibilities in the Trump administration to play influencer.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has made a splash as a cosplay queen over the past few months, including dressing as a firefighter, an ICE agent, and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Even Attorney General Pam Bondi has joined the trend. In April, she wore a personalized lab coat, pretending to be a scientist at the Drug Enforcement Agency for a day.

Of course, Bondi has been spending the majority of her time on Fox News, which, as someone who should have her hands full at the Department of Justice, might be a bit concerning.

Then again, Trump did pick a former MTV reality star as his transportation secretary and an heiress of a wrestling franchise as his education secretary, so it does seem to add up when you really think about it.

Great article. Warfare is now basically “all of the above.” We’d best get on the bandwagon if we’re not already. COVID-19 was most definitely born in Wuhan, as evidenced by pre-pandemic information from a Chinese doctor trying to warn his fellow doctors in Wuhan and a defected Doctor who spilled the beans. As the virus spread, the Chinese government stopped all travel within China, while leaving international flights open. What could be more deliberate? At that point, the bug was already racing across the country. Within short order, the morons at the CDC and FDA knew all of this, perhaps in real-time. The only thing they could think to do was double down on stupid and kill millions. We’d best be on guard.

Reports of several thousand physically fit military age Chinese men during across our southern border and disappearing into the country. COVID was a deliberate act of war as was the attempted intro of the fungus to wipe out our grain crops. We are already in a state of war with China.

There is also an actual invasion underway as can be seen in Western Europe. The Muslim and tribal African worlds are invading uncontrolled into the UK, France, Germany, etc. Those who stole the 2020 election and installed Biden were supporting a similar invasion of America aided by the power hungry democrats.
