The 60-foot statue of Robert E. Lee which has presided over Monument Avenue in Richmond for 131 years will be removed in pieces on Wednesday morning. It is the last of the Confederate statues to be removed from Richmond.
Preparation for removal of the statue will begin on Tuesday evening when a fence will be installed along Monument Avenue and Allen Street. Street Closures for the removal here.
