In the fourth chapter in the book of Daniel, it is written of a dream that Nebuchadnezzar the King of Babylon had that in fact was a prophetic dream that would eventually be fulfilled. That dream resulted in the Babylonian King being driven from the kingdom into the wilderness in a state of madness, dwelling with the beast and eating grass like that of oxen for seven years.
Many Bible believing Christians and historians alike can agree that King Nebuchadnezzar was a ruthless and wicked king. A king who carried out in the years of 605, 597 and 586 B.C. A siege of Jerusalem with the destruction of the temple in his final siege and even going as far as demanding the worship from others of a golden statue of himself sentencing any who refused to do as such to death (EX: Daniel chapter 3).
After the events of Daniel chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the One True God to the point of issuing a decree that anyone shall not misspeak against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and it would seem at that point in time that he had a change in heart, however that was not the case as he kept transgressing against the One True God which led to his exile into the wilderness but whatever came out of the seven year exile of the Babylonian King?
At the end of those seven years, Nebuchadnezzar with his senses and understanding returned to him, looked to heaven and gave praise and honor to the One True God acknowledging that His ways are right. This was an act of repentance from a lifestyle of ungodliness and immorality.
So in today’s day and age there is a lot that many of our political leaders, in particular the ones on a path of the same ungodliness and immorality can learn from the fallen yet redeemed Nebuchadnezzar!
I could name numerous examples of those who could learn from Nebuchadnezzar’s example but if I did I’d probably have to turn this article into a series but there is one in the annals of American history who we can say has taken the fall and even came to the saving grace of Jesus Christ and that individual is no other than former Alabama Governor George Wallace.
The history books will tell you all about Governor Wallace of how he was a segregationist, supporting Jim Crow policies, declaring during his 1963 inaugural address his stance for “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.” And even going as far as standing in the front entrance of the University of Alabama blocking black students from entering the building in this act of an attempt to stop racial integration.
In 1972 as Wallace was seeking the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, he was shot in an assassination attempt by perpetrator Arthur Bremer which left him paralyzed for the rest of his life. Like Nebuchadnezzar, did Wallace experience the eternal life saving salvation of God?
Yes,
I did stand with a majority of white people, for the separation of the schools. But that was wrong and that will never come back again. – George Wallace
While Wallace had a past disdain towards the black community as Nebuchadnezzar did towards the Jews, both men ruled in ungodliness, faced downfall and experienced the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
What political leaders both national and international who may be following in similar footsteps of both Wallace’s and Nebuchadnezzar’s past actions can learn is this. All will face God’s judgment nor is anyone immune or invincible from it and no matter how wicked of an act you have committed there is forgiveness and redemption in the blood of Jesus Christ.
While one may think that it’s unfair that God would save men such as Wallace and Nebuchadnezzar just remember that we are all sinners that stand condemned and the only pardon is the accepting of what Jesus did for us on the cross, admitting our transgressions before Him and confessing that Jesus is Lord, Savior and the King above all Kings.
If you are a Christian just as I am, you too will one day meet Nebuchadnezzar and George Wallace in the place that God has prepared for us, paradise.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. For there is no dif erence between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Romans 10:9-13 KJV

Yes indeed Brother, we will meet Nebuchadnezzar and George Corley Wallace in heaven.
Who I do not expect to meet is Adolph Hitler, whose policies were responsible for the killing of 6 million people.
Moreover, I do not expect to meet the people whose policies have been responsible for the killing of 60 million people.
That’s 10 times as much you pro abortion scum Democrats, and, slimy supportive Republicans.
