The Real Threat to Democracy

For months leading up to our most recent Presidential election American voters heard the constant refrain from Democratic leaders and their sycophants in the media proclaim how Donald J Trump was “A threat to Democracy” and if elected American democracy as we know it would no longer survive. Well for starters we are a Constitutional Republic and not a pure Democracy, but I digress …

As a recall our President elect was going to “be a dictator on day one,” utilize Seal Team Six to assassinate political rivals, start a nuclear conflict with Vladmir Putin, put political rivals in “internment camps” as did FDR to American citizens without any due process, implement Project 2025, be a fascist like Adolf Hitler etc., etc., ad nauseam.  

Well as Inauguration Day is fast approaching it appears many that made such outrageous claims are either back peddling or like the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff GEN Mark Miley recanting their pre-election proclamations of gloom and doom. Those that accused Trump of being a “misogynist”  need only look at the selection of his Chief of Staff and other high-profile appointments to see how ludicrous their accusations now appear.

It should be now readily apparent to even the most ardent Democrat that the real threat to Democracy was allowing our Chief Executive to remain in power with diminished cognitive abilities and allowing those behind the scenes to implement their dystopian vision of America. Open borders increased violent crime, the suppression of free speech, and the politicization and weaponization of America’s once blind justice system to conduct lawfare on political opposition are but a few of what we endured for the last four years.

So, DJT a “threat to democracy,” I think not. Let’s hope the real threat to democracy ends on January 20, 2025, and with it those who claimed they would leave the country if Trump were elected have their boarding passes in hand.
