Shortly after November 5, Batya Ungar Sargon, a well known Democrat and the Opinion Editor of Newsweek Magazine, said the following words about why Democrats lost.
“What the Democrats did is instead of recognizing that NAFTA and defunding of vocational training and the opening of the border had resulted in the plummeting working class wages, actually an upward transfer of wealth from the working class to the college educated. They developed this discourse that masculinity is toxic, at the same time they were shipping good paying masculine jobs in factories overseas and importing millions of construction workers to compete with men at home.
They developed an alibi for themselves that it is toxic and criminal and poisonous for a man to want to be able to support his family with the sweat of his brow. And I think that is really the role that cultural extremism has played. It’s not so much that working class people vote on that. It’s that they were called racist as an alibi for the fact that the people calling them racist were shipping their jobs overseas and importing a slave caste to do their jobs so they could pay them less, so the cultural elites could keep more money in their own pockets”.
Ms. Ungar Sargon is onto something here. That what is now the mainstream of the Democrat Party is doing everything they can to remove manly behavior from the public square and replace it with men who will apologize for being men. Take the trial of Daniel Penny in Manhattan. Mr. Penny was indicted for manslaughter after having defended a subway train from an obviously crazy man. The Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg (same man who indicted Donald Trump) decided to indict Mr. Penny for no real reason. Mr. Bragg had to know that Mr. Penny was trying to defend a subway train from a very troubled man, but went ahead and tried Mr. Penny anyway – most likely because Mr. Penny was white.
Like it or not, and a lot of people will be seriously offended here, but Donald Trump won because he brought a wide swatch of the American people together. Trump united conservatives such as myself, Rich Anderson, Todd Gilbert, Mark Obenshain (list goes on) with more moderate factions of America, along with classical liberals like RFK Jr. and also brought along progressives like Ms. Ungar Sargon, who have seen what the radicals have done to their party and want better. Even leftists like Jillian Michaels openly supported Trump. Be you white or black, liberal or conservative, straight or gay, male, female, trans, Christian Jew or Muslim, everyone needs to be able to afford food. Something we can no longer do thanks to Biden/Harris.
Now, to be fair, let’s agree that Kamala Harris did unite a few people as well. She united radical leftists with Liz Cheney. Aka a group of people who enjoy bringing in illegal immigrants to depress wages so elites can make more money. A group of people who funded the Russian invasion of Ukraine by artificially inflating gas prices so Putin could afford to go to war. We deserve better, and got it November 5.
