Gallup.com has compiled the map below to show Trump’s job approval by state. There are 12 states where Trump has above average job approval and 18 states where it is below average. Virginia is one of the latter, as is Texas!

There is no above or below average figure here. What is reported is that trump is below water in all but the 12 most red states. And wow, Texas. That is hard to believe.
Those who erect and maintain walls or borders are rarely popular near the walls or borders, so substantial is the negative effect upon commerce, freedom of movement and peaceful enjoyment.
This hides the extreme disgust with the GOPe. I look at what happened with the omnibus bill. No wonder democrats are ecstatic. The bill left the Obamacare framework in place, continued substantial funding of most Democrat priorities, and basically spit in the face of not only Trump supporters but the entire GOP base. I imagine SBT is elated. Well, come November, the GOPe will be happily encounced in the minority as they wish to be. Only hope is long term – primary out the treacherous GOPe.
Divide and be conquered is the banner you carry. Cede the middle, stick to the base brings familiar election nights, each side of the GOP/GOPe blaming the other for its minority status. There are none so blind as those who will not see that the answer is unity and not division.
Besides, nothing suits the average Virginian better than a competition for their affection. Today’s voter sees only one party appealing to the center, unfortunately. Your primary battles are the friend of your general election opponents.
On a scale 1 to 10 , 10 being the best.
I will give my President an 8,
(always leave room for improvement even on things that I do).
We have to also rate the Va Republican General Assembly , much different (not including Medicare vote, I don’t full understand ) .
I give you guys a 5.
Reasons;
1) You haven’t brought forth any legislation to support my Presidents Americanism Agenda.
2) My President just received money to help in the construction of the wall to provide security and protect the American/Virginian Worker
and you Virginia Republicans voted NO on hb1106. By voting NO you cast a vote to undermine interior enforcement of *your* shadow economy and provide Santurary to illegal aliens.
Again By Voting NO you have prevented the freemarket growth of Virginia Workers wages in a legal market,
( do we need the General Assembly to have minimum wage increases?, no)
THEN STOP SUPPRESSING THEM!
How much unemployment funding will Va receive from the federal government to subsidize the job shift to an underground economy?
Yes I tell my workers the little tax cut from the Federal Government is;
Chump Change compared to wage suppression.
And to the the Conservative Delegate fellow with his fancy speach on my House Floor had the audacity to speak Goverment is the problem, damn strait!
And he also works on Workforce Development. That is public tax dollars for Corporatist Employment Training.
Just some thoughts from one of the forgotten working men at 5am.
So Mr Va Republican what time is you TEA time (ha ha tea not tee) on the course. Boy it sure would be to shag one into your foursome.
A. There is really no money for any wall in this bill. And
B. I thought Mexico was going to pay for it anyway.
Your going to pay for it and you need to get your illegal labor in step with the Va Unemployment Compensation Act.
What do you give the President after signing this spending monstrosity today?
Marco,
I am not being a smart mouth in no way with these comments;
As long as Va Republicans continue to vote NO on payroll fraud
(unauthorized guest worker programs) I do not have the luxury to be concerned with National Debt. And apparently the 5 Va Republicans who voted NO on hb1106 have absolutely no concern for National debt or spending bills that subsidize illegal employment either.
Consider my comments to be very condescending to the Va Republican who allows Va to contribute to our National debt by having our unemployment coffers filled by legal employers and the Federal Government.
All due respect to Gallup, I am not buying that Trump is below 40 percent in Texas

Is Virginia no longer a part of the south?
Not really. It’s been tainted by its proximity to DC and the migration of New England values.
Very true. Go to One Loudoun on a Friday Night and the number of people wearing Patriots/Red Sox/Giants/Yankees hats outnumber the numbers wearing Redskins/Nationals/Ravens/Orioles hats.
I used to work for one of the IC agencies and they heavily recruit analysts from Penn State.
Drive 75 minutes away from Tyson’s Corner in any direction that remains in Virginia and it becomes southern again.
Non-rush hour of course.
An hour or two from Tysons at rush hour gets you to Dulles. Maybe.
Just South of 460
I would have expected better of Utah.
