Local races are just as important as are state and federal races. Local races determine the quality of living of a community. And your Constitutional Offices are on the ballot this November. Dave Bourne is running for Treasurer of Augusta County. You need someone who is well steeped in how to handle money, how to manage an office, how to deal with people, and how to get things done.
Dave Bourne is a former local small business owner who has lived most of his life in Augusta County. As a small business owner for many years, Dave knows how to manage an office, and how to get people to work together to accomplish a common goal.
Maybe more important, is Dave’s ability shown in his term as County Republican Party Chair. When Dave Bourne took over the Augusta County GOP, it was in a shambles, with infighting being the norm. Dave taught the Augusta County GOP members that infighting would not work, and that to get people elected they needed to put previous wrongs in the past. The end result? The Augusta GOP is a well oiled machine, that has gone from one of the worst Unit’s in the Commonwealth, to one of the best.
This could not have happened without Dave Bourne’s leadership. To get a diverse group of people to work together so well, shows the type of people management skills that will make Dave a great Treasurer. Please vote for Dave Bourne – early voting starts September 22.
John Massoud is the Chairman of the 6th Congressional District Republican Party of Virginia.

Dave did do a great job his first term and chair… HOWEVER once he sided with the city elders the committee has been disorganized and has lost membership. Prime example is during this election cycle we haven’t even had a membership meeting since July! Since Bourne is the chair….why hasn’t he called a meeting. How can we the membership support our candidates if leadership doesn’t even call meetings during a important election cycle. Maybe John you need to rethink what you write.
Dave Bourne literally used the political machine of the local sheriff who ran against the nominated Republican just 3 months prior, to win his seat against an actual in the trenches grassroots volunteer, Anne Seaton (RIP). The in fighting is still present, with several GOP Supervisors having allegedly recruited an opponent to Anne’s Husband, Scott for his supervisor seat.
If John calling the ACRC not having a meeting since July during a election cycle well oiled I hate to see what dysfunctional looks like.
