One of the biggest criticisms of the new Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is her lack of experience in public schools. From my point of view that’s one of the best things about her! She’s not mired down by the burgeoning bureaucracy of public education which has not helped our schools in world educational rankings. Our schools cost more and more and educate less and less. Another global educational chart here.
As I have long complained, our schools are top heavy. School administrations increase, in both numbers and cost, far out pacing the increase in students as is easily seen in this chart:
THIS ^ is why we need Betsy DeVos and not some public school educrat who has spent decades in public schools supporting the massive bureaucracy that is busy increasing their numbers and lining their own pockets but not helping to educate our students. Shouldn’t education be the main focus? And not expansion of the bureaucracies?
